@A70TTR do you think Toyota did good in choosing weight savings over moar power with the MKV?

Ultimately yes, because power is much easier to add vs taking weight out. That said, a winning combo would be decent power and lightweight.

I personally wish this car was coming with somewhere between 380-420hp given the production weight. but it's just that wishful thinking.

Agreed...400HP would have been a nice sweet spot. At least Toyota started consumers off on the right foot with the lower weight. Given the current tunes and bolt-ons for the B58, through aftermarket parts, 400-420HP should be achieved easily! Seems like a solid chassis for a clean slate to do some experimenting on!

Yeah, I don't think it a bad spot to be in at all, but given the lower hp it needs to be priced right.

If the I6 car is anywhere north of 55k it's probably not gonna be in a great market spot IMO. That's all outside of my area of expertise though...

Too many competitors in that segment and all are "bang for the buck" cars...either Toyota will stay conservative at 55k or they have something up their sleeves if the intended price is anywhere north of that. Here's hoping to good decisions on their end haha

Hi @A70TTR I have a question for you. Do you think Toyota will use the same engine for their motorsports activities? I know that plays a huge roll in further development and perfecting of engines but this isn't their engine. The more they develop it, the more only BMW gains in the future and not Toyota. Unless they don't share anything with bmw :D In which case whatever they do to it is purely a waste of money?

Just look at the competition
Alpine A110(1100kg,250HP)
718 Cayman(1400kg,300+HP)
They're in a good place

You gotta give Toyota credit for making the Supra weigh less than a Lambo Huracan

completely agree, but specs (and if Moto-san is to be believed, A90 ability) are both in the same league.
