Guys, watch this video:

I hope the new A90 MkV will be able to hold its value well, just like the A80 MkIV, and be as legendary as its older sister/s. What do you guys think? Will it succeed?

That guy is a little too late because the when Paul Walker died, that's when Supra prices took off. You can find Supra TT 6 speed's in the 20K range easily before 2013. I know b/c I could have bought my friend 94 Hardtop and he was asking 23K for it.

Same thing with the aircooled Porsches. That ship has sailed a long time ago thanks to Magnus Walker and LuftgekĂĽhlt. I'm kicking myself in the ass again for not picking up a ol skool 911.

IMHO, the MKV won't hold it's value compared to the MKIV. It'll tank in value just like majority of modern BMW's. They just don't make them like they used to.

Don't hold your breath, I don't see it appreciating in value, but I can see it depreciating slower than almost all the new BMW's.

If M cars depreciate, the Z4 and Supra ramp will be steeper. With how many MKV's are planned for annual production and quicker updates (if manual option), the MKV won't be a rare car hindering any sort of collectability.

Well, again, that's not entirely correct. This car's closest M competitor is the M2. The M2 is not limited production, the majority are DCT, and it just got upgraded to a new engine. Yet, it is difficult to find low mileage, depreciated M2's. The Supra should be limited for a while, so I am certain that, for at least a few months, prices will be high.

I am unsure how demand will be long-term as the public's perception thus far is very mixed. This likely means prices will eventually drop, but nowhere near what my E92 or F80 M3 did if my assumptions are correct.

What's not correct? It's a sports car that's in production. Ok, let's take the M2 F87 for example. They were MSRP for 53K back in 2016. Just looked on AT, there are plenty ranging from 38-42K with less than 25K miles in both auto and manual. Prices will drop even more once the competitions start selling.

The MKV is not limited. From the IG photos, they are already exiting the factory and seem to be well on time for summer availability. Prices will be high for those stupid enough to buy at MSRP or with ADM just to be the first owners.

Really appreciate being called stupid. Anyways, a 10k depreciation hit for 25k miles is not very much depreciation, especially when it comes to the type of car.

I am not saying it is forever limited in any way shape or form. All I am saying is there is likely enough early demand to outstrip supply.
This would likely mean that the cars would have an inflated price at the beginning. Like, I said in other posts, I am not willing to pay a markup whatsoever. If they do, I will go buy the aforementioned M2 in competition spec most likely.

Haha, I'm not calling you stupid, it's not wise to buy a car at MSRP, esp a BMW. Does that sound better?

You might not think that's a significant loss but M2 owners are feeling the crunch. Will be even more with the M2C.

That's just initial supply/demand with any new car. IIRC, they plan to produce 11K/annually. That's going to eclipse MKIV numbers substantially.

There are multiple BMW models listed in these article. Do you really think the Z4 and MKV will not depreciate as quickly?

As I previously said, short term, no. Long term, I have no clue. It could, it also could not.

Left or right?
C'mon, without a doubt, RIGHT! :drive:

No Toyota on the list so far. I think the Z4 will be saved from this, by Toyota, Mostly are BMW luxury large cars. There’s no sports car from the list, only sedans, hybrids, and electric vehicles. I think the Supra and Z4 will hold their falue well.
That's if BMW really took into account and remedied the parts that Toyota R&D found to be poor quality.
