It would make for a logical benchmark. We know the regular MKV was designed with an eye towards the 718, so it would make sense for the GRMN Supra to tackle the Top Tier 718. But $179,000 for the Competition version? Sheesh! A guy could buy like 35 used Dodge Neon SRT-4s for that sort of green.

That's a track only race car... not a real consumers car. I'm not interested in cars like this.

Sad... I hoped they would do a street Cayman gt4 of the 718 with a flat 6

Well that's what Clubsports are. This is what Tada rumored with the GR Supra.

"According to a report from Road & Track, Porsche will use the new 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport as a development platform for an upcoming street car version of the same. This is incredibly good news."

That's actually a good price for a full on race car.

You are correct, it's not a bad price for a turnkey race car. My comment on the price was meant as a joke. Seems like any time anyone posts an expensive new car, someone will always comment with something along the lines of "What!? I could get a flood-damaged salvage title Ferrari for that sort of money!"

lol I was about to say, "Neon SRT-4?!"

I like how Toyota is finally shadowing Porsche (it's about damn time) and it was unfortunate that Porsche and Audi withdrew from Le Mans giving Toyota their only win after so many attempts and failures.

Given that Porsche is not being secretive about their prices (180K for the Competition and $152,700 for the Trackday), this provides some insight on to where the GR Supra price might equate to.

I love how this is an all out track car with *only* 425hp. The internet believes a number like this is too low for a performance car but fails to see how quick a car like this can actually be.

haha, it needs 1,000HP.

The '16 GT4 CS put out 385HP, similar to the rumored 2020 Supra. Plus it's an NA and tipped the scales at 2866 lbs. I wonder if Toyota will leverage off the new GT4 CS specs for the GR Supra?
