Haha, I’m not cranking out sub 10 quarter mile times in the car anytime soon but yea my driving style will be closer to what he’s doing. Would like to maximize my launches but avoid riding around town on 0 camber lol, this is fairly new to me.
I was on an alignment thread earlier and coulda swore I was talking to ya on there ?‍♂. Great question though… I’d be curious to what y’all run camber & toe wise. Would assume it’d be all zero?‍♂

Is there a way to read, see or log the IAT while driving and not unplug my JB4?
It's one of the default gauges on the JB4 app when you start it up and connect to the device. You can monitor IATs while you drive. If you're running Android, I'd suggest joining the beta program (though the app's Google Play page). Much nicer interface and works very well. Just understand what you're getting into by doing it (app may break or functions may be unavailable at times).

Thx man! More power = more heat. I’m trying to figure out when to cut off the JB4 on track. Last track weekend I turned it off (or switched to Map 2) in the afternoon and it worked. No more codes or loss of power. But it’d be nice to actually know the IATs ? Hot as balls outside also a good indicator ?

? If you're struggling that much with heat soak on the track, you should totally go for an upgraded intake manifold... you know you want to...

I bet that Sparco couch is going to be comfy as hell... ? What kind of custom seats are you thinking about? I'm buying all of the safety gear now to prep for a hill climb in March '23 and am going back and forth on what to put my ass in.

Daaaaamn! Those look nice. Perfect for a street/track setup. Is there a long lead time when ordering? How much do they cost? You know, it drives me absolutely nuts that the seats push your head forward with a can on. It makes all day events tireding for me personally, but I don't have the neck muscles of an F1 driver. I learned my lesson with this car for sure - take a helmet to the test drive and try it on. In all the research I did on the car prior to purchasing, I hadn't come across this complaint.

I've landed on the Sparco Evo QRT for seats: https://www.sparcousa.com/product/evo-qrt. They're nothing fancy, the price is right (I don't need $7k carbon fiber seats), and should be comfortable enough for all day track events. I still haven't decided on harnesses. I've always been a big fan of the Schroth products, but it's been a minute since I've had the brand in a car I've owned. I've run 'em on my VWs and BMWs in the past and really liked them. Something like this: https://www.schrothracing.com/item/enduro-3x2/fia-6-point. You sticking with the seatbelts or installing harnesses?

Yeah the head forward head rest, big mistake on Toyota’s part. Hence why I’m looking at “pretty“ seats. I had 3 different Sparco seats in my track cars. Loved them! Made sure I sat in them ofc to ensure fit. If I ever go dedicated track car again, or my wife buys a Supra (we’re considering it), I would definitely buy a Crow harness. But that’s just from experience and what my race team recommended. Those Schroths look nice!

https://www.parts123.com/brand/crowenterprizes/2016/doc.config.proformCROWOFFROADRACINGBELTS.htm

And I was told to get a 5 point with a cam lock, not 6. The 5-point will give you all the security & protection you need and easier to use. The crow the harnesses were flexible and wore well. Easy to slide into position, firm but never frayed.

The only thing I could possibly get sponsored for would be eating Ben and Jerry's ice cream over the sink at 1am like a wild animal.

Thanks for the links. You know, I've actually never raced with a 6-point harness before. Only 5-points. What bothers you about the 6-points?

The kids that did it for a living recommended the 5 point Crow and used them in their rentals. Come to find out it was quicker and more comfortable for me when hopping in someone else's ride. But if you're competing, check and see what they require in your region. I've only done HPDE and felt snug as a bug in a rug! ?

What rear diff fluid do you suggest?
Great question for @zrk. I always liked Red Line for my prior track cars. Be good to hear what he uses putting that much power down ?.

Ever seen this @zrk? Not pulling any new codes with it which is weird. Came on after an alignment. Going in the shop today to see if he can make anything out of it or turn it off.

Someone suggested this on another thread. So I’ll show it to my mechanic. Thanks for your expertise and any suggestions you’ve got :)
