Hehehehe nice Richie, welcome to the waiting club :)
My order was in 6 months ago (azure blue, manual GT) and I still dont have a batch number saying my car is even in production yet.
Might pop in to the dealer on the way home given they are now supposedly "available" and see if there is any info. Last I heard they were expecting a batch no last month.

Oh, I "ordered" mine a while ago to too.

But, that is just infornation in the dealers "log" which tracks customers and their cars. The new my23 Supra has only just become available to order a build.

What I mean by ordered today, is officially a build has been submitted to Toyota.

Process - So it goes into dealership log (anyone can do at anytime), then once the brand (Toyota) opens orders, the dealers stock control submits an order (from the dealers logs) directly to Toyota.

That part has only *just* became available. That is the actual, true, order, directly to Toyota (not the dealer).

You need that part to happen. When that happens you will get an email from Toyota (not the dealer), that your new Supra has been ordered!

So make sure you are onto that part of the process.

Sorry I don't mean to confuse. I work in a dealership, so I'm used to the lingo.

I'll try and explain better.

When you put an order in with a dealer, for a car that isn't available for order yet, imagine this (hypothetical);

You go in and say you want the car. They write your name down in a book (but obviously thats digital these days) and what car you want.

That is an order with the dealership.

That book gets tucked away, until the brand (Toyota), opens it's ordering for that specific model (my23).

So the actual brand, has only just opened up ordering on the my23 Supra.

Right now, your a name is on a list, for them to place an order, once it opens up.

It's now open.

So make sure you get in touch with your sales rep and remind them to order your build.

Hopefully that makes more sense.

Hi Riche,
Does it means whenever our order got placed (I ordered mine at May), the factory is getting the order build only start now , and should I say the first MY2023 Supra will arrive in Australia after next Jan?

Hi Riche,

Yes, that's right. As long as your salesrep (or stock controller) is on top of it and getting orders submitted. That's why I encouraged to call up and ask them to order the build. My sales and stock controller thought it wouldn't be open until end of November. I asked them to check and they saw it was now open to submit a build.

When I placed my order a few months ago, it wasn't open. So it was never submitted.

Unless, if you picked a colour that is part of my22 models and an auto, they may have submitted it and hope that Toyota don't make it a my22 and roll it into the my23 builds.

Toyota will roll orders over onto the new MY (model year) too.

Manuals and new colours 100% could not be order submitted until this week.

and should I say the first MY2023 Supra will arrive in Australia after next Jan?
No, some are very close already. Toyota will already have made some cars, but none of them are allocated yet.

That's way you need your actual order placed with Toyota asap.

How stock allocations and builds work:

Toyota will have a schedule for the future of which cars they want to make, spec, colour etc...

If your order is one of those, then they will "stock match and allocate".

For example, I saw a Supra that is already made and headed to our dealership. Just one, which will be our demo.

It happens to be my exact spec... I won't get it, because we are a very large dealership and need a demo.

Hypothetical - In Toyotas schedule, a few white and red GT models could be planned for December builds. While yellow manual gts might be planned for Jan. Build orders get thrown into this too of course.

You may also pick one thats already made if you're lucky. If you're unlucky like me... it's your dealership's demo allocation. Smaller dealerships may give their demo allocation up though (so give it to a customer).

So technically, someone who orders after you, may actually get a car before you. Time and luck, both play into it.

But you want to be on Toyota's order list, so they can either try to stock match, or get your build into the schedule.

Apparently my car should be in the dealers holding yard here next week so it’s looking like I’ll get it the week after that.
It’s now almost a 10 month wait since I put my order in and I’m very eager to have it finally!

Just to confirm this, I ordered an MY22 auto in February and will be receiving an MY23 in the next couple of weeks so I’d say the first MY23s will be in the road very soon here!

Called my stealer.. still crickets. They spin a very different yarn, suggesting that Toyota has had the their orders for a while already and they're just awaiting a production date.

Also, I did some ringing around and all the Melbourne stealers I spokek to are now quoting 6-12 month waits.

Awesome as guys. Glad to hear you are all on top of it.

I'm going to stop yarning on about it, because I think that's as much info as I can give on the topic. But if you have any questions on process etc... you are very welcome to shoot me a pm, because I don't want to keep spamming this thread haha.

I called in to my dealer yesterday and got the whole chip shortage thing and everything is behind. I mentioned the new ordering thing and whilst he was a bit vague on it I think he has it all in hand. It sounds like mine will be a November allocated build.....sigh, it's still months away.
On the bright side though, he said they are getting a demo and it's a manual so at least I will get to drive one before I buy it.
Lol, it would help if he had entered my mobile number correctly in his phone, he has sent me texts that I never replied to coz he transposed the last 3 numbers and I never received them.
So glad I called in yesterday.
On another note, is it just me or does the Azure blue they have on their website look different to the Stratosphere blue I've seen in videos, it looks like the old dark blue on the first Mark5. I prefer what I'm seeing in the videos TBH.
