Here is a QLD delivered 2023. I assume its front bumper was unmolested and not repaired.

Waiting for my dealer rep to respond and see if they'll confirm their ability to leave the front bumper alone, and what channels they have to go through to achieve that.

Interesting. Thanks for chipping in! My understanding is that the changes came in to effect from February 2023. If this car was delivered after then, there is hope!

Similar story here.

A proper bumper repair will only add fresh colour on the repaired sections (so for these holes, I'd say maybe 2x 50mm holes) and then clear the whole bumper

That said, I am the same and would prefer it with the OE paint.

The Plate Mount saga continues.. I've had a few calls/texts/emails from Toyota as well as my dealer and everyone's looking into it. At the very least I do get the impression they are all aware of exactly how intimately this is all connected to me not just cracking the shits and buying an M2.

I've also had a few repair quotes as an emergency fallback.. $650-$800AUD to respray the bumper and get it back to new.. And I'm painfully aware that even if I get Toyota to foot the bill, chances are it'll never be exactly the right colour anyway.

Ugh.
Hey man,
I placed my order a few weeks ago and so it has not even started production so please consider my post accordingly.
The GM (Sydney dealer)gave me his word that if I brought my own mount (carbonio), he can deliver my future car with no mount drilled in.
He has told me to remind him to note it down when my car enters production. I plan on getting a hold of someone in charge of pre delivery and informing them too.

Hopefully with persistent and united petitioning, we can persuade Toyota to do something about this.

please let me know who you’ve been contacting with at Toyota Aus so we can petition.

it’s such a sub Par solution to road compliance…..

ps. I’ve combed through FB Supra Australia group for undrilled precedents too. Perhaps you might have some luck asking therefor specifically post Feb ones.

All signs look like its about making the right amount of noise with the right people.. as usual. Thanks for the info people have been putting up - seeing some delivered without the front plate shows that its certainly not a legal issue.. just a procedural one.

Mine did too. I advise you to have it added to your contract. My original salesguy left and I trusted the process and now I'm in limbo. Trust me, if it's in writing they will make it happen, one way or another. Only way to be sure.

Update on the car being detailed and protected.

The detailer removed the license plate holder to find 4 screw holes...

I am just gonna rock this factory license plate holder for now until I get a chance to fill and respray the front bar.

None the less it's done and I have an amazing car to drive.

I do like the yellow but that blue is a close second. Looks good mate.

Also, I've decided that if I do have to fill and respray the front bar, I'm going to have the Toyota oval filled while I am there so I can slap a proper BMW roundel up front.

Thanks mate. It's increasingly looking like this is (for the moment at least) a Victorian issue because of that stupid new pre-delivery centre.
I've also put a request in with my dealer in Vic to have mine delivered without the plates, and I'm currently waiting to hear back from them speaking to Toyota. Maybe if enough of us make noise the new centre will change their tune ?
