This happened over the weekend. Initially thought I picked up a nail until I pulled the wheel off. Still don’t know how it happened. Defective tire maybe? Continental Extreme Contacts with maybe only 5-6k miles on them. Other side looks perfectly fine. No rubbing. Good thing I pulled over before any damage to the rim.

Super fortunate. Looks like everyone made it safe and sound. Those are some dead sexy rims too. Hope they survived.
Yes. Fortunate nothing happened to us or the rims.

How was loading the supra on the flat bed tow, no dangers of scrapping?

Being able to fully air up with the air ride suspension helped a lot!

Yea going to contact them. Have a feeling they’ll find a reason to blame me.

That’s a tire fail. At first I thought I was looking at the inside wall/tread and was going to ask what your setup is.
I have the same tires so if it’s not a defect then this is a cause for concern for the rest of us.
Clad to hear you and yours are safe. Keep us posted.

Edit: That is the inside wall/tread…my bad. What is your setup? Could your alignment be the cause for rubbing on one side?

Yea it’s the inside. Had no issues with the alignment. No uneven wear on any of the tires. No rubbing of any kind.

Yikes, hope you're safe. Glad to hear your rims are in-tact (they are stunning). Curious to know what could have happened though since the tires were relatively new. Awful luck, but as long as you and your car aren't scratched up, it's nothing that can't be fixed.

305/30 on 10.5”.
I had a similar thing happen, shrapnel in the road caused it. Had a similar blow out on the inside of the tire on stock suspension. I hope you bought the tire warranty and it should be replaced minimal charge. Good luck.
