From the front and front 3/4 view it looks good. However from a flat side profile and rear view that rear end looks entirely too long. The rear end gives the impression that it is longer than the front. That proportion only looked good in some of the more inspired 1930's automobile designs.
It definitely looks like they're playing around with the idea of an MR2. There is plenty of space in the rear-mid for an engine... or a motor drive unit and a ton of battery cells if a performance MR2 EV is what they're thinking.
But that rear end needs to be made smaller. It just doesn't look right at that length as compared to the front. As is it looks as if an MR2 were made into a long 2+2. Lotus did an excellent job with the styling vs proportions of a 2+2 mid-engine car in the Evora. I like where the Toyota designers are going with this idea. It's just the rear end length that bothers me.
