According to Toyota Norway 5 years are included in the original purchase.
Mine expire in july this year and I have tried to renew the services in advance online, but the link from supra connect page doesn'tgo anywhere... i have raised a case with Toyota Norway 3 months ago, still nothing..
PS. last map update I have is from jan 2022, i have been trying to get Toyota to release the new updates (BMW updates twice a year) for over a year now... and still nothing.
Curious to know if cars sold i 2023 still have map version 1/2022

Toyota finally activated online services for my car again after i showed them this thread ?
I have been fighting with them for over a year and it's finally done and I was right all along. They didn't like that ?

So I have an update on this... and unfortunately it's not a happy one
I have been arguing with Toyota about map updates for over a year and a half, my latest maps are 1/2022 and I know that BMW releases these twice a year.. so far not updated yet..
Knowing this, the history that started this thread, and that my car is 5 years old this July I started asking about renewal of the online services sometime in February this year.
So far zero results, I now have the tech manager for Toyota Norway on speed dial since June and still nothing...
In short my maps are now 2,5 years old and I have no live traffic, no weather info and so on.. it feels like I'm back in 1990..
It looks like I'm going to sell the Supra and buy a beemer.. I do love this car but I hate everything toyota now...

While I understand and sympathize with your plight, the built in iDrive map is pretty shit compared to Google Maps or Waze - Data updates aren't going to fix it. As for your second complaint, I don't think there's a fix for that.

Dealing with Toyota is the single worst thing about this car. All those Toyota fanboy spastics don't seem to comprehend just how brain dead Toyota dealers/Toyota corporate really are. And if you think it's bad now, just wait a few years after the Supra is discontinued. Will Toyota still be able to get spares? Will they continue to train "Supra techs?"

If Toyota dealers can't deal with the car now, what will it be like once the car is no longer for sale?

The shitshow is about to begin my friends.

Sorry to hear. But ultimately you should be happy. Agree with BMWAF, Toyota is the weakest link of this vehicle by far. It’s a bargain BMW that’s more track focused. Hits the spot for only a few weird peeps like me.

A good buddy just picked up his. Told him to let his dealer know to hook that service up. He did. It’s a shame you have to tell Toyota to do this before they deliver the vehicle. That being said, I’ve only used mine on the rare occasion to look up my mileage. Saves me a few steps from walking to the car, lol. And it’s nice to locate it when it’s in the shop. Checking on it like a helicopter parent with their teenager out on their 1st date ?

lmao ok relax. jesus christ

Toyota Supra Connect services are extended indefinitely. map updates are OTA, just connect your phone via CarPlay, and look for the option in iDrive settings

if that's not working for you, use any of the other map apps available to you on your phone..

insane.

Just to clarify, I'm not talking about the app and looking up the car's milage on the phone or where the car is, that's just as useful as you described it..
I'm talking about live traffic info in the satnav/maps, which then navigates around traffic jams and closed roads, similar to (and probably based on)google maps, which given that I'm going on a car holiday in Europe for 4 weeks is more or less a necessity..
At the moment I have maps (from 2022) which have no clue what is actually going on i the world, and the satnav may just as well send me to closed road or potentially straight into the biggest traffic jam the German autobahn ever had..
I could use carplay (after replacing my samsung with an iphone) but toyota can't get that to work either, and there is no android auto

As for a bargain, in Norway Supra is priced a bit higher than in the US ;-)
I just checked the price now, 2024 model is currently priced at USD 102'
Which puts it more or less on par with BMW m240i, which has the same engine and gearbox but a 4x4 drive and four seats. I do agree that Supra is more fun, don't take me wrong, but at this price they really should put some more effort in customer care and service

You really think I haven tried that, I've been trying to get the maps updated since 2022... there are no updates available for download in the toyota download manager...
and having spend over USD 100' on car i would like to have the option to enjoy what toyota is advertising

PS carplay doesn't work...

if your carplay isn't working either, sounds like a bigger issue, such as the head unit malfunctioning. with tech, the first step would be to update the software. probably the cheapest option too

Maybe try deleting your BMW profile or remove VIN from it. Wait a while then set up a new profile and put other country nearby as your country as see if that helps?
Even drive out to Sweden or something to see if that helps?
Anyone in Norway having the same issue???

Update on this case ( a bit late, sorry about that) Toyota / BMW finally managed to re-activate the online services and gave me access to new maps a week before we left for out holiday.
According to Toyota the online services will be active next 2 years, and then will have to renewed again.
I didn't have to pay for the renewal, as you would with a BMW
