TPMS for the Supra

Bumping the thread.

I am setting up a new set of wheels for my car.
Will keep the OEM wheels for winter tyres.

I purchased some 433Mhz sensors on eBay. Sold as original BMW, used, but never fitted.
They came in (opened) BMW boxes and plastic bag, but when we fitted one at the tyre place, it felt a bit "off".

In the past I purchased Chinese sensors to fit to my motorbike's spare set of wheels, as the battery died in the original ones, and – while they do work perfectly – the valve stem length was slightly different than the original BMW and it took a second or two extra to have them fit properly.

So... now the question... are these AliExpress counterfeit BMW sensors?
I've seen a few variations of the markings over time online...

It's mostly a curiosity. I think we will move the sensors from the OEM wheels, and I will keep these ones for the winter set maybe.

I should have a TPMS wake-up tool somewhere in the garage... maybe makes sense to try and test them.

Those are some legit knock offs.

I got for my new wheels the original HUF / BHsense ones (pre-programmed Version) and those look like this:

I would also assume that OE BMW ones would have he BMW logo printed on them.

So I ordered these with the black valve stem option.

I test fitted them on my aftermarket wheels but noticed they don’t tighten up snug. I’m assuming these wheels are thinner for weight saving compared to the OEM wheels. Did I get the wrong ones?

Hard to imagine, but pics of the wheels could help.
As long as the valve hole is not out of spec they should fit.

But what do you mean bei test fitted? Just hand tightend or probably torqued down to spec, like the instruction say?
Because only if you torque them down and the shear ring breaks they will sit and seal probably.

Okay I think you answered my question. I just hand tightened it and they didn’t seem to want to go any further, I didn’t want to break anything so I didn’t apply any pressure. So it needs to be torqued in is what your saying?

Correct

EDIT: Oh and if you torque them down, make sure to use a deep / long socket nut, otherwise you may risk to crush the threads or tip of the valve... Ask me how i know...
