Transmission Lag

Started noticing yesterday that when I shift from P to D there is a delay for like few sec once I take my foot off the brake pedal for the car to move forward.. has anyone else experienced this?? Car has bit over 10k miles and only mod is catback exhaust

definitely didn’t feel like it was throttle hesitation.. i noticed this happens when i do a cold start. So the cold torque converter won’t be an issue??

So I noticed it happens on cold starts.. so of course I wait for the car to warm up and idle for a minute or so

So even after the cold start and you put it in park, it has the delay? I'd keep an eye on it. Maybe it'll just go away.

I'm guessing it shifts fine in auto and manual mode, in sport and comfort?

It shifts fine when I’m on the road. It’s only when I’m shifting from P to D where I have that lag before the car moves forward.

I know little about ZF8s, but this was how the Honda M6HA in my '97 Prelude telegraphed that it was about to destroy itself.

You have a '22 and your powertrain warranty is still in effect, so I think you should report the problem to your dealer.

All my cars have hill assist. So in my driveway, for example, I switch from P to D, there is “hesitation“ so I don’t roll back. Could this be what you’re referring to?

I believe cars with hill assist use the brakes to hold the car.

I have a 2020 with over 55k miles and it's done this since the beginning.

For clarity, simply shifting from P to D and releasing the brake, without pressing the gas, the car will pause before eventually creeping forward.

If you shift from P to D and immediately press the gas, there isn't a delay, at least not for me.

It probably goes unnoticed by most people unless you're really paying attention to it.
