I was coincidentally wondering the same thing. I haven't seen that DTC 60 part number mentioned anywhere else, so wasn't sure the source.

On a related note, does anyone know which BMW's use the same rear brakes (premium), so I can check for compatibility?

All 2/3/4 series with the blue calipers, which are the M Performance/sport brake package, exactly same brakes as the Supra, and like @Rocksandblues stated, the Z4. Also all the 2/3/4 "M-lite" models, M240i/M340i/ etc. Don't confuse them with the M Motorsports brake option which have 380mm front rotors and larger calipers. (Also called the cooling and high performance tire package) I believe the rears *might* be the same but not 100% sure.

I believe I found those part numbers by cross referencing bmw but I would triple check to make sure.

Hey everyone, first post here. What’s the consensus for the best street/canyon pad and fluid setup? I do not track the car but do some brake heavy canyon driving. I have yet to have the sensors trip but can feel that the pads are quite worn and are going to need replacing soon. I don’t mind spending extra for a good product but would also prefer not to break the bank. Also, dust is not a massive concern but it would be nice to keep it minimal. Are you worried about cold performance (ie cold climate/winter)?

The OEM Brembo pads are pretty decent unless you're doing repetitive threshold braking over 100 mph. They do dust a lot however.

Castrol SRF seems to be the fluid of choice with a lot of Supra/track people because it petforms well, has good water resistance, and doesn't cost as much as some of the other high performance brake fluid.

My opinion on dust is good pads that work well generate a lot of dust.

Also very happy with the Project-μ Club Racers. No hint of fade whatsoever during my first track day with the pads. They did overwhelm the PSSs pretty easily. I can't wait to try them out with proper 200tw tires.

Also happy to report that during my commute in high-30F weather the pads still have plenty of bite for the street when cold. They're not even very loud. Great pads.

Do the PMU's make more noise than the stock pads when driven on the street?

Keep in mine the general rule of thumb, more dust = more stopping power. If just driving on fun roads, not threshold braking repeatedly, ceramic pads will do just fine and you‘ll get far less dust.

For the money (broken record here), the Hawk DTC 60/30s are an incredible buy. Yes they will make dust and they can squeal (however I don’t get that). But you will not have any issues stopping the car. I love em!

The misunderstanding can be from the link above. Even Speed Industry calls the rear pads DTC 60 in the link. However they are DTC 30s. They are fantastic when paired with the DTC 60s up front.

Salesman at hawkpadsdirect.com. Not saying it's the authoritative source as they are a reseller, but he said the rear pad I listed (from the table) is a different shape than the pads made for our caliper, like the DTC-30 (HB917W.626), which I ended up going with.

Going back to what’s been mentioned a couple times above with the DTC60/30 set up, why did you chose the 30 over the HP+? The HP+ may not have the heat range of the 30, but it does have a MUCH more consistent mu over its range.

I tried those long long ago and finally started driving fast enough to cook em. Give them a try They might be just fine if you are just starting the sport. I don’t know the physics behind the numbers. However I did meet a really cool race team owner back in the day. Became good friends, got to know all the drivers, etc. No thought was involved. They just told me what to do. I gladly took their advice. They had me start with Hawk Blues. Which they don’t even make anymore. But it was a good start, above HP+. Eventually, they moved me up to their DTC compounds.

So it wasn’t just buy the best pads. They worked me up progressively with my driving skill. I remember never thinking I’d need a DTC compound, but here I am. Other brands do the same thing and have some great pads, no doubt. I’m using Hawk because of the bang for the buck for our car and my long history with them. They’ve served me well.

You can still buy Hawk blues...I have a set for my LeMons Mustang as a failsafe if I can't find anything else. That being said, run Hawk Blues when there is no other viable option. They are atrocious when cold, the dust will rust on your wheels in about 5 minutes, and they don't last all that long. It's really an OLD pad. My first set of real track pads were blues, and that was nearly 20 years ago. They were an old pad 20 years ago.

I’m shocked they still make em. That’s about when I got into the sport. 20 years ago they were the training pad of SCAA ? I thought they were so badass back then, LOL. I had my HP+ pads and they were such an upgrade. Of course moved up to DTC compounds and now full circle back - back on em. I’m glad we have so many options for this Supra!

I’m up 13 mph in the straight at Palmer compared to last year on stock power and still have zero issues with the Project Mu Club Racer brake pads. Great price, great track performance. YMMV depending on your local track.
