I've been a bit quiet here because I have been heads down on http://www.tuningtools.io/ . I've been doing some smaller updating in the app that I have felt didn't need any announcements. I do have a big definition update coming before the week is over. 3,000+ new tables will be added to S58 BIN's and 4,000+ to S55/N55 BIN's. N54 and B58 gen 1/2 to follow.

However, what I have been really been focusing on is a datalogger. Not to match what is out, not to release to compete (Why? Tuning Tools is free.00), but to create something that integrates well with Tuning Tools, and offers something a bit unique. I'm a track guy... historically I have been datalogging more chassis/suspension/brake related channels via direct CAN network physical tapping, with no ability to cleanly have those channels merged with engine channels. So I have once again been building something that I have wanted for a long time.

What the heck does this mean? The first release will be limited to B58 Gen 2 and S58. This is on purpose to make sure the quality is where it should be.

Hundreds of DID channels. These are not generic OBD2 channels, these are BMW specific.

But wait, there is more... RAM Channels that span from 10-1000hz. These are even more BMW specific and what the BMW DME defines functions with. They map to table axes and are input and output sources for how the DME operates.

This also means you are logging them at higher speed than DID channels and exponentially higher speed than generic OBD2 channels. Think brake torque, G-forces, wheel speed, turbo dynamics, Boost Target, Boost Setpoint, Temperatures, etc that the DME literally uses as inputs and outputs to how it operates!

This has been a huge effort as RAM channel addresses change every BIN software version, and since I have never been handed the keys to the kingdom and do not have every single software version A2L, I have had to been resourceful, building tools that can find, translate and define these addresses.

This will be available across web and mobile. Wired ENET or WiFi Dongle. (both currently working). Check out this video I put together. It shows a sample of channels I have working on my personal B58 Gen 2. Note that this is a development build and the first release will be better curated and organized.

Once again, I am building for all of you, and for me. A middle finger to the gatekeeping and the riddles.

Really impressive work! Been following your TuningTool project for a while now.

I've managed to pull the RAM addresses from my own car to read things like ethanol content etc in my own app, but nothing even close to what you've done here. So far I'm mostly stuck with using the Mode 22 BMW spesific DID's due to the problem you just explained, about different RAM adresses for different BIN versions.

What I'm working on is more of an upgraded BimmerLink with a GR Supra theme. What you're doing here is on a completely different level.

I'll definitely give it a try when you release it!
