Love the car, but wish it had the distinctive turbo whine under acceleration.
Anything to be done about this? CAI?
An intake (and intake pipe to the turbo) will drastically increase the whooshy turbo sounds. There is a lot of baffling in the stock air intake the muffles that quite a bit.

Arma speed intake. The turbo noise and waste gate noise you will get from a one piece turbo inlet/intake pipe are insane.

I personally have the Armaspeed and can vouch for it, others have said the MST also provide quite a bit of noise.

The amount of baffling on the stock turbo inlet is crazy. I've seen suppressors with less noise reduction properties.

Not looking specifically for sound alone, but is important

Yes.

Sounds is about all you're going to get from any intake. The stock airbox is quite good and unless you get a Turbo heat shield or blanket, and just figure out how to drop IATs as a whole you aren't going to gain anything substantial from an intake alone...at least without a tune to take advantage of the extra air and lower IATs.

These manufacturers claims of 20hp with an intake are comical.

Any specific CAI?
I'm new to the Mk5 world...
I personally have my eye on the AWE one. I like that you can buy a cover separately as you’d want that for max power.

here’s a community driven directory of parts for you.https://airtable.com/shr7qXGYus9tvX5qY

Go with Armaspeed or MSTv2 intakes. Plenty of turbo spool noise and flutter.
