I came across this video couple days ago:
It compares a V-band single-scroll turbo versus a T4 twin-scroll turbo of similar size. Interestingly, even though the single-scroll has a slightly larger A/R ratio, it actually spools faster than the twin-scroll in the mid-range by a noticeable margin. With results like this, is there really any advantage to using a twin-scroll anymore?

It doesn’t spool faster in the midrange. It produces a larger power band in the midrange (his exact words, gained a ton of midrange power), go watch the end of the video again. It actually spools a hair slower then the twin scroll, picks up midrange power and finishes at the same HP, because the turbo is maxed out.

the beginning even told you everything. Twin scroll spools faster. So for 500-1000 hp cars, it’s the King. Until you start going BIG POWER, 1200+ he said, the twin scroll wins.

Twin scroll always wins. Check the literature. Feel free to use sci-bot to have AI scrape all the data from SAE and ASME journals and give you a summary table with a one-liner summary of each article. Its never been easier to disprove clickbait.
