Tyre Flat Spots?

Hi,

My Supra is garage kept and frequently has periods of 2-3 weeks when it's not driven.

Battery wise I have a CTEK so no issues however should I worry about tyre flat spots?

What I try to do is start it and move it a few inches in the garage so it's sitting on a new tyre spot maybe once a week.

Do you guys think that's enough not to worry about it?

More than enough. If it was 2-3 months between driving... you could just deflate them slightly to have even more insurance. What you're already doing is plenty IMO.

Can I ask please what's the reason for deflating for prolonged periods?

I am not "mechanically" minded sorry.

When I was thinking of it I thought, if the tyre is less inflated would that not allow the tyre rubber to be slightly more flexible hence allow more possibility of a flat spot?

My understanding is that one would increase the tire pressure. Not, deflating pressure.

All my cars sit in the garage for most of the winter except my daily and I inflate the tires to the max pressure labeled on the tire and all is well. Just remember to reset your tire pressure when you are going to be back to driving them.. never had a problem for 20 plus years now.

I use something like this to store my s2000. it helps a lot reducing flat spot after 6 months storage..

as for supra, it goes away after some drive so i don't bother..
