I picked the car up back in mid November and to be honest I didn't drive it too much over Winter. It had less than 1000 miles on it at the start of March 2020!

Here's a few pics of the car from I first picked her up.

I asked the dealr to not drill the front bumper & fit the number plate bracket as I think the car looks so good without it and the bracket would just spoil the look.

After this is got to grips with the car alittle more thanks to the great weather we had in the UK.

Then the modding began!

The first thing I bought were the Verus Engineering Anti-wind buffeting strips. Finished in Gloss carbon they were easy to install & look great! SO great in fact I then ordered the Gloss carbon mirror caps to go with them!

After this I had been researching the Bimmercode app as I really did hate the BMW chimes & bongs. This was easy enough I managed to change a few things:

- removed the active sound design (car sounds so much better in Sport mode now!)
- changed the bongs to Rolls Royce style ones
- removed the volume pop up (I think it lingers onm the screen way too long)

My next port of call was to open the car up alittle, perfomance doesn;t really lack but the exhaust is so hard to hear in such a refined cabin, save for a few burbles occasionally.

I booked the car in with Garage Whifbitz who are famous for tuning mk4 Supras in the UK. They had done a lot of research on their mk5 shop car and were offering a few different tuning packages.

I opted for the "Stage 2" Ecutek tune, which swaps the standard catted downpipe for a catless one, switch the boost & intake pipes for hardline parts, K&N panel air filter & importantly adds the Ecutek tune which could deliver circa 500BHP (flywheel) depending on the car.

I treated the car to the Garage Whifbitz carbon fibre engine cover whilst I was at it, really gives the engine that high end look imo.

The first stock dyno runs produced 334WHP which is more than Toyota quote!

The final figures with the tune were 437WHP & 502lb/ft @ the wheels.

The car had it's first oil change after the stock power dyno run. We went up an oil weight to 5W40 Motul 8100 X-clean. The car done just over 2,500 miles at this point so the idea of keeping the original oil in the car until 18,000 miles with a tune was unthinkable to me!

I did have another map with a lower torque figure for wet weather which came in at 412WHP & 462lb/ft @ the wheels.

Shell Vpower 99 RON fuel was used.

The car sounds incredible & not too loud which is nice. The power is next level & you really do need to be careful when deploying that power to the floor.

The Ecutek app alows you to adjust the burbles on a slider, the video below is it set to 100%. It's pretty crazy so I have mine set to around 30% now which is a nice level.

nice update. are you going to keep the stock exhaust?

I was on the UK MK5 Supra Facebook group for a bit, which I think is run by Garage Whifbitz as they advertise on it a lot. I didn't realise they were really big in the mk4 scene.

Yeah Whifbitz are making their own exhaust system which will use a wider system, 3.5” all the way through including a new downpipe to match. I’m tempted by the full titanium system tbh.

Yeah it’s crazy how capable the engine is. Keen to get more out of it though!

Following this as well (we need more European cars :p)
Now you require an aftermarket turbo to continue :D

So two more mods have been made.

The first isn't technically a mod, more of an accessory tbh. I have been using the Supra alot as a daily and really didn;t like the idea of not having a spare wheel in case of emergancy. I have had some hairy moments where I've popped tyres (motorway at night with no hard shoulder!) and been very thankful that I've been packing a spare to quickly change and get out of there.

So the Supra being BMW fitment I sourced the below spare wheel here. It fits over the front brakes too. Ties down nicely to the eyelets present on the UK car.

The next mod is one I wanted to do from the get go but had to wait for the product to make its way over from the US first. The LG Motorsports Heritage spoiler. Made of carbon fibre the quality on this is insanely good! So I got it painted up & fitted! Wow what a difference it makes to the look of the Supra, almost makes the car longer and fills out the rear quarter so it doesn't look so "pinched".

I'm starting to like this spoiler more and more. Did you have to insert those screws?
Great build
Thanks! It's certainly a quality item.

I didn;t do the install myself but you can see the 4 silver nuts (2 each side) where the spoiler screws into the boot lid.

Included are some clear gel "cushions" that you add to the boot to protect any potential contact too. Very well thought out.

So not too much to report sine the last update mod wise.

I did get the car into my good friend at Bespoke Detailing, who gave the car a minor paint correction & ceramic coating with C-quartz finest.

The car is absolutely gleaming! Not much correction required as I have tried my best to keep it in good condition.

Using mainy car pro products:

- Car Pro PH Neutral snow foam
- 2 bucket method
- Gtechniq wash & wheel cleaner
- Car Pro Elixer detailer spray

The eagle eyed below will see where the "Toyota" badge has been removed. Personally I hated this on the UK models as it made the back end look way too busy. Far cleaner now IMO.

A few more snaps. Very impressed with the 0.5 zoom on the iPhone 12 Pro. Makes taking interior pics so easy!

Also got my dyno run to upload.

You can see my stock run VS the stage 2 run overlayed.

Is the stud diameter different in the UK? The spare you listed shows as being 120 and our cars are 112. This is a great idea though and will be picking one up if I find the correct bolt pattern.

I like that carbon steel wheel insert for the bottom, where did you get it from?
