Hey guys,

I recently noticed some weird “grrt” noise when the car changes from Second to third gear… the weird part is I only hear it when I drive with open Windows otherwise u cant hear it. it’s not loud at all but when u drive slow and the car changes the gear u can hear the noise.

I went to Toyota dealership and he told me its normal and its just a mechanical noise “cuz that gear is reenforced or something like that”

So, I just want to ask if I should be worried or not and do u guys have the same weird noise?

Also, I think from First to Second there is also some Noise, but u barely hear it

Sadly, here in (Austria) are very few Supra´s owner and where i live im probably the only 1 so i cant ask around if ppl have the same problem and if its normal or not.

PS: the car is full stock

Post up a sound clip / video, but chances are that it’s not an issue

Did you ever figure out what the noise was? I have the exact same noise on my 2020 Supra GR and have always wondered what it could be

Hey I think so but not sure.
I even changed exhaust to a Remus and the noise was still there.
A lot of mechanics told me it’s the exhaust flap.
Apparently it closes and opens depending how much gases the car is throwing so yeah ur going be stuck with that noise
I sold the car tho cuz it was bugging me quite a lot and than I got even more noises from the cheap materials they used inside the car. So at the end was just to much vibrations noises and I hate that shit.
Other than that great car ??

So strange as I also experience those vibrations - I had it often at high speeds or going up steep inclines. I tested your theory though and put the car in sport mode and not one single sound from second to third. Same in manual mode. Still is a complete mystery to me but will definitely be renewing my warranty - just in case :p

What are you driving now?
