Well, I pulled the trigger on the Rimmer-tech front view camera kit and can finally confirm that it works!

I ordered the specific kit for the touchscreen NBT EVO ID6 head unit.

It automatically turns on briefly when shifting from reverse into drive. It can also be selected on demand by pressing and holding the MENU button on the iDrive controller.

There was a lot of trial and error on wire routings, dip switch settings and mounting locations so I don't have a play-by-play photo DIY, but I'm happy that my weekend project was successful!

Did a little something to the Supra. Looked good on paper but having some second guesses now that it's installed.

Why are you second guessing it? Have any pics of it on the car with everything buttoned up? I have one of these sitting in the garage right now that I'll be tackling as a winter project. It will take me a while to complete an install like this. I have the red flair for the inlet, which, like you said, on paper, should look pretty cool.

Put on the Maxton V2 lip today. Was going to put on the V3 side skirts but the passenger side one had a bend in it. Bummer. Ordered directly from Maxton Design so probably got damaged during shipping.

Planning to put on the rear spats tonight after my kids go down. Will run without side skirts for now I guess.

I am second guessing it cause it doesn't actually connect back to the intake. Just blows air near it. I thought it was supposed to connect back to it....

True, but it’s better than getting zero air flow in the area where the intake is pulling air from. At least this is filling that area with cool air from the vent. Like you I thought that it was fully connected/sealed so you could get some pressure from the scoop at speed, that’s not the case but I do still think it will lower IATs. It certainly can’t hurt.

Check back with me in a week. If Maxton wont take them back and the next set I ordered gets to me undamaged, then they’re yours.

Yeah, it isn't a closed system, as you discovered. Would make no difference in terms of performance if it were a true "ram air" system on this car (or any forced induction vehicle for that matter). The turbo is already squishing and blowing to a far greater degree than a "ram air" system possibly could. Would you be willing to take a picture of where the Velossa Tech system empties out and how it aligns with the fresh air inlet on the car? I have one of these in the garage waiting to be installed.

Any worry about it blocking the cooler right behind it?
May be fine for any non-track car

You know the grill to the left ( in pic) basically already leads directly to intake?
