It's 5th. All dyno pulls on our cars should be done in 5th.
I'm confused as well, i was almost certain 6th gear is our 1:1 .. Pulled this up from the interwebz

Is there some other reason to do it in 5th instead of 6th? Or is 6th not actually 1:1 ? Thanks for the help because i was planning to schedule my next dyno session soon.

Lastly, strictly out of curiosity.. would the affect of dyno'ing in 6th instead of 5th create higher numbers in 6th or 5th ?

Probably because 7k in 6th would be 170mph+

5th is around 134mph

People get too hung up on gears on dynos. As long as the operator always uses the same gear it doesn't matter. When I was operating a dyno, I would not use the high 1:1 gear because it puts too much stress and heat on the car without the right amount of airflow. Unless you have a crazy $$$$$$ dyno cell with airflow that can replicate 150mph worth of air, it's not worth it.

Exactly this. No one is trying to do 175mph on a dyno. 135 or so is enough as it is.

There is no reason to have a 1:1 gear ratio.

6th gear is most likely to slip the trans. The clutch packs for that gear has the lowest torque rating of all gears.

The Sixth Gear Problem
There are multiple clutch packs in the Supra Transmission. Each used for different gears. The clutch pack used for 6th gear is known to be the weakest clutch. This is likely a big portion of why the transmission is only rated for 368FTLB of torque. This gear is known to slip on shift at about 500FTLB of torque. And if you even floor it on an ethanol tune in sixth gear at 3500RPM sometimes the RPM will jump up like a manual transmission. Due to this sometimes the transmission will detect slip and protect its self. It will shift to the next gear and limit the cars power.

I would snatch a set but the boss wants our bathrooms remodeled. Hell we got a quote for 58k and I was thinking of fighting her on the remodel and picking up a 2024 MT lol.

My buddy who visited Japan recently gifted me a genuine GR cupholder cover. My car is under her car cover so next time I see her, I will give the cover a try. I've always wanted to cover those cup holders. Even my cheap 4 bangers (STI, Golf-R) have those garage door like covers you pull over and looks nice. Why a BMW have no cover.. It's as retarded as M340's that come with narrow tires.. looks like a 1990 Nissan Sentra.
Not sure if real leather, but quality is top notch. Does not look like some Etsy product like some I've seen here.
Do you have pictures of them? What does the bottom side look like?

I didn't take any pictures, but if I recall there was black hard foam on the bottom side that would fit into the cup holder area.

You mean hearse right? 580 is cool, is that a ZL1 engine? Too bad they weigh like 5500lbs hahha
Oh ya, talking about cars not shifters. Proper spelling is not my strong point haha. Yep, its the LT4 engine with a small cam on our wonderful 91 octane.
