Took me two evenings but I pulled the wheels, washed, decon’ed, clay bared, polished, alcohol wipe down, and Gyeon ONE ceramic coat. Also did the calipers. Damn are these things glossy now! Rest of the car is next ?

BC Forged RZ05 - and of course the one rock chip on the whole set and the wheel with the most weights is in the photos ?

Been working on this project, figuring out which bushings I can find an oem monoball to fit in its place. Found 5 of 7 bushings can be replaced, the others will get a cup machined with a spherical bearing.

So I went for a fairly long drive today, doing about 400km (250 miles) on mostly nice twisty country roads. This was my first genuine drive since having my CDV deleted and my first impressions are that it has indeed fixed the reliability of the 1-2 shift.

Don't get me wrong, deleting the CDV hasn't magically transformed the Supra gearbox into one from Honda or Porsche, but during this drive I found the 1-2 shift to be perfectly reliable. Almost all of the shifts felt good, some great and a few not so much. What was important though, was this experience correlated with my movement, not luck.

For the record, my problem with the Supra's manual transmission has always been the reliability of the 1-2 shift. Before having the CDV deleted, I was never sure if the gear change would be smooth or complete dogshit. Please understand that no matter how good my inputs were, the transmission just seemed to have a mind of its own, and 9 times out of 10 it would reward me with a godawful jerky shift, like a learner driver.

Beyond feeling more reliable - the few less than perfect shifts felt like they were my fault - the clutch felt a little more eager to spring back and It just felt more urgent. If anything, it actually felt slightly harder to drive, but in a good way.

I have posted numerous times on numerous threads adamantly denouncing the deletion of the CDV. So far, It certainly looks like I was wrong.
I had the same experience and wished I had done it right away after the car left the dealership. I grew up with Honda’s and have even driven modern manual transmissions and although I get the purpose of the cdv, when someone is experienced driving manual it just gets in the way. Good for you deleting it.

Are you going to share your findings?
If anyone is interested they can message me. They are direct replacement, you do need to run a misalignment sleeve/collar as the replacement monoball 14mm ID vs the oem bushing being a 12mm.

Needs to be maintenance bled a lot to keep a firm pedal. As soon as I (and others) moved to a different fluid it all went away. With Endless I can do 10+ days without any maintenance bleeding. With RBF I would need to do it after every track event to keep the pedal firm.

please don’t use that garbage brake fluid on your next flush.
Luckily that flush will be sooner than later when his pedal becomes spongy. ;)

Endless FTW
I give him 4 laps, maybe 5…..
awww great lmao.
Well, it's in there. Luckily i don't think i can get 4-5 laps out of my tires either.
if i order the fluid now i can probably have it by... maybe july.
