Cost is always up to marketing beyond an initial forecast set by accounting afaik.

So it's really tough to know that with any degree of certainty until the preorder stage.

If you mean a range, then that's a different story

Hard to estimate a cost until we actually know how it will be finally configured...

You know, in looking at that spec table of the five generations of Supras, it dawned on me that they consider 340ps to be progress, because they show 280ps for the MKIV, which is of course was rated that because of the gentlemen's agreement at the time. But for us here, since the MKIV was quoted as 320hp (was it?), we hardly see any progress...

I believe JDM Supras had smaller turbos.

..until we can verify the weight + torque figures the rumors so far don't mean much

I'm kind of hoping those leaked drivetrain information is for their domestic market models and elsewhere, whereas they have a more promising drivetrain for the US market. But of course, I doubt it.

I still am hoping for a retractable spoiler....if the LFA and RC-F can have one, why can't the new halo car?

My friend who read Japanese didn't say much other than they compared the first gen Supra to the newest and that the next gen supra will be unveiled at a auto show, aka geneva. Though, he got new York for some reason, not sure if he actually read New York.

Now, my question for A70.

Is this a deliberate marketing plan from Toyota? Revealing all this two weeks before the event when they know anyone who has a passing interest can leak this to the public in record time? Doesn't sound logical.

The text apparently says that there will be a production concept revealed in NY (according to my Japanese friend lol). Take that with a grain of salt of course. Who knows maybe we'll see more than we're expecting at Geneva...

Most likely, Geneva shows racing concept and auto show gives us the production concept.

If so, I'm calling out of work to get a view of it.

Well they did mention the 0-100kmh stats in case nobody's posted them: 6.6 seconds, 5.4 seconds, and 4.8 seconds for the 3l turbo. So if those are true, wonder what the curb weight is. I mean, do they jive with what curb weights they quoted?

Doesn't it say 3.8 for the turbo?

I know this is all guestimates, but still...

I consider that impressive, if it is around 40k, but there's no way that is being sold at that price, despite all the American cars can muster up power like a madman at the same price range.

Personally, I could care less about the power as long as the ride draws emotion from the driver and a huge smile the more the car is revved.
