I have a 2021 and haven't had any warnings pop up at all. I got the oil changed after the 1200 miles. Then oil changed at around 5000. I just checked today and still at max. Going to be monitoring it a lot more now though.

Edit: forgot to add how I broke it in. Definitely let it warm fully up before doing any engine braking and pulls. Definitely wasn't babied but by no means driven hard. Mix of highway and city driving.

I went for about an 80 ( car now at 2650)mile drive today..when I got home I checked the oil level and it said I was 1/2qt low...
I just add 1qt at 2520..
Decided to run the check again and now it says the oil is at max?
What the hell?

Maybe the problem has more to do with the electronic measuring system then actually needing oil?

Guess we will never know since we can't manually check oil with a dip stick?

But do we report the oil consumption if we have modified our cars? Tuners, downpipe, charge pipes, intake ?1?

I had the dealership change the oil at 1300 miles. Friday the car was at 4k miles (2700 miles since change) and the oil was at half. Since then I've driven 400 miles and now the oil is down about 1/4 above the min line. Have an appointment Wednesday so we will see how the dealership handles it.

This is not going to help with future sales. Toyota better be taking care of customers with bad engines or this can spin bad for them.

I remember reading something from Toyota about how they took apart the BMW engines and inspected them part by part to make sure they meet Toyota quality standards. Well I guess someone for got to read the memo? I mean WTF?

I want a new Supra now but not willing to commit until I have an idea of how widespread of a problem it really is? Or wait for a 2022 to see if the problem has been resolved? It looks like it is happening pretty early on milage wise. I guess we have to wait and see to get an idea of how widespread the oils consumption issue really is? Any idea of VIN-range or build dates yet?

Public relations wise there is not much on Google yet when you search "Toyota Supra oil consumption problems". Toyota will have a problem if this is wide spread and more people start reporting about it. The nail in the coffin will be when Road and Track, Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Auto Week, or other mainstream media picks up on it and starts reporting.

I remember reading that also. The question is did they just work on the b58 that is in the 2020 or did they work on both?

I think about this too sometimes. A ton of R&D for 2020 B58 and all of a sudden they switched to the 6 port. maybe Toyota needed more time to work out the kinks?

80% of the people claiming to have an oil consumption problem, don't even have one.
"My car is at low at 3500 miles!!!"
Within spec.
The manual even says that within the first 10k miles, it's going to use more than normal.
Most of this is just a bunch of paranoid little girls that pretend to be experts. "Cars shouldn't use any oil blah blah blah"
Ok, Camry's are there for the taking.

There have been a few with real issues, but nowhere near the amount the internet will make you believe.

Edit: Removed toxicity.
