Hi there,

I just installed an AA (active autowerke catted downpipe ) I did not do a tune but my car was running with a race chip GTS setup . After installing the down pipe car is slower than stock base on my butt dyno however the sound is nice in sports mode anyone experience the same thing for AA catted downpipe ?

I have a '21 supra and installed mods in this order. aFe Exhaust, AA DP, and the MST intake. The exhaust made it deeper, the AA DP did not increase the volume as much as I'd hoped and it did make it feel slower when u stomp on it, but after installing the MST intake the pops and bangs got a lot more violent, the responsiveness came back, and it feels faster than before... do u have an intake as well? I feel like it helped, maybe something to do with airflow and back pressure blah blah... no real science to back it up just the butt dyno

A catted downpipe would not result in a loss of HP/torque. Numerous people, myself included, have documented gains from AA downpipe and other systems as well. Not sure what the race chip GTS setup is, but maybe take your car to a dyno or shop to confirm everything is running right.

I had an Armaspeed carbon fibre old air induction . I still feel that the stock catted down pipe is faster .. just that the sound is better ...

The downpipe will add some power on its own, its not major so you might not feel it but its certainly wont be slower

Double-check for leaks

Alternatively, it might be your tires. Once you start adding more power mods like a downpipe, JB4, etc., the stock rears are too skinny to put that power down, so you just end up with wheelspin. You might want to look at 295 rears.

When I was on catless the feeling is so much different from a high flow. I had double check for leaks my mechanic told me all is good.

I installed the same downpipe as one of the first mods. Titan protune and then the aa catted downpipe then aa exhaust and finally armaspeed intake. The downpipe definitely added power which I felt. Was much louder than stock as well
