Do you consider the Supra a "young persons" car?

From a young person's perspective absolutely not. A true enthusiast recognizes the car, the person driving is irrelevant. Lifes too short to worry about the age of which you should drive a car.

Edit: I'm 23, so the way I see it is this is my one "expense". I don't spend on anything else and I make enough to cover the price of the car without worry. Others may have a similar experience but I love cars so I couldn't imagine driving a not so cool car.

I’m 20. This is definitely a young persons car. Not like 9 year old young because they are all obsessed with the mkiv thinking it came stock with 1,000 hp ?
Do 9 year olds know what an MKIV is? Honest question lol The OG fast and the furious was way before their time, so idk if they even appreciate it like some of my generation does

I met a 17 year old who bought a 21 Supra. I was like, “when I was your age, I had a 10-year old Monte Carlo with 150k miles that I worked 3 summer jobs to buy.” I loved that car.

Age is just a number, I am 38 and to me this car balance between sporty/Luxury fits the bill! A 30+ car for sure, as example Scion tC would be a “young” person car.

Every number is just a number until you apply context. The context here is the number of years you've been alive. $300k is also just a number. So is 1984.

Age, just like everything else we apply context to - does matter.

Oh you’d be surprised, my 12 year son knows more about mk4 Supras than me back in the day and I been a Supra fan since I remember so that is saying something. It is Amazing when I pass random schools here in PR and I see kids yelling At me “it’s that a Supra” so the mk5 Supra definitely is just if not more recognizable in the streets as a mk4s.

Well I’m the youngest in this conversation and I can assure you that anyone younger than me hates the mkv and likes the mkiv. The people you’d expect to like the mkiv more since they grew up with fast and the furious don’t give much hate on the mkv. Kinda weird

Also can count the amount of sports cars owned by people I went to high school with on one hand, but fans of cars like ours is almost everyone

A young persons car as in a car a young person can own is almost certainly not going to be a brand new sports car at all. It’ll more than likely be what they bought fron their parents when they decided to buy their selves a new car. I think everyone here is talking about what a young person would be a fan of. More young people will like the Supra than older folks. Usually those older appreciate good old American muscle rather than a plastic European 6 cylinder

No one has ever told me I’m too old to own a Supra. Usually they’re so caught up in the car they don’t pay attention to my old self. ?

I think back as a poor college student digging for change in our couch just to buy some burritos at the local 7/11.

There is no way in hell I could have afforded anything in this price range period.

I just say this... if you can; A: fit in the car, B: Get in/out of the car with no complications or injuries, C: obviously afford the car, D: enjoy the car without complaining about every little things OR at least look past the issues... then the car is for you regardless of age lol. You're not old, just seasoned, that's it. ?

Honestly speaking Supra MKV could not be considered a young person's car for millennials and below. It's refined, comfortable, fast and luxurious to a point and more expensive than a young fellas car.
That's why for ages hot hatches were/are so popular. Less refined, affordable, dingable and much cheaper to tune.

Nowadays all cars are refined, sleek and for the past few years even Toyota finally got on the bandwagon of upping their interior design from looking like something out of 80s to modern ones...
So, it's now so easy to consider Supra in a world where there isn't many brand new sports car to begin with... 86 had started showing it's age and honestly still not as refined....
I think no one would disagree that a WRX, Fiesta, Focus, GTI and Civic to be more of a young person's daily car. In EU Megan RS, Clio RS, now GR Yaris, Peugeot 20x/30x, Citroen C2/3, DS, are young people's car in my mind and in society's or your mom's or gf's pov. I'm almost 38 btw... so that's where I'm coming from.
Back in the day if you (your parents) had money, your luxury option was either BMW or Audi.
Is C8 a young person's car?

I figured as much. What's your take on it Because of price? Looks? 55k vs 65k.
55k you get loaded Supra vs maybe 2LT C8, not the top model. Or is it American vs Japanese/BMW thing? Or is the 'vette more of a dad's car? Even with C7s...
With that don't know what to think of Mustang's either. Such a wide portfolio from performance and price point. Strictly talking brand new in all....
Anyhow, forget stupid society and peer pressure, buy what you can afford/enjoy/need right. Cheers

I've always considered the MKV to be an entry level sports car. As far as being a young person's car, to the younger crowd sure it may seem odd to see an old dude driving one of these. I'm 32 and I find it odd seeing a young person drive a Corvette. I guess you expect certain types of people to drive certain types of cars.
