I recently installed Eibach Z4 lowering springs on my car (so just a less than an inch drop), and I found a recommended alignment shop with an advanced Hunter rack. The tech there told me that our cars have a radar/camera system that are based on the stock ride height. He told me that because I lowered the car it could have an adverse affect on the safety systems and could potentially cause the systems to inadvertently kick in and cause an accident. He said they have these issues for a lot of cars and are able to recalibrate them post alignment but he did not have a way to do this for my car (Supra 3.0 Premium).
I have been driving around lowered for several weeks now and have not noticed any issues with the safety system but I know tons of people here are lowered more than me and track their cars. Any issues? Do I need to find a shop that can recalibrate the system? He said he can still do the alignment but he did scare me a little
