Brand of Windshield Washer Fluid?

I typically have used RainX, but after doing research many people with BMWs had issues with it breaking the sensor or clogging up stuff.

Since the Supra is BMW built, is it best to get the BMW concentrate?

At zero degree protection, it can get very expensive.

However, there is a lot of posts online and a failed class action lawsuit against rainx from people who had sensor damage or sludge.

I've never actually put wiper fluid in the Supra honestly it's only seen rain a couple times. In my other cars, I put in whatever Autozone has on the end cap display.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of this. It seems some people state is it only the one with deicer (which is orange like the 2 in 1 and looks almost the same).

I was only able to find the one with no freeze protection on Amazon though. What was scary was how toxic this stuff is though. I'm no tree hugger but it seems really bad.

My BMW dealer has the BMW concentrate for ~$4. Figure 2 bottles will give me a gallon of 2 degree protection for $8. I mean it is insane but hopefully that will buy piece of mind.

I've been dumping RainX orange (2 in 1) in my Nissan Armada for a decade and have not had issue. BMW is so annoying with their over engineered designs

For colder climates, just add a mixture of 99% isopropyl alcohol to the Netzett mix to prevent the washer fluid from freezing. I use distilled water for my mix. Works great. Love the citrus scent, and the babes do too

Yeesh, had no idea RainX was possibly so bad. Hell, first time I washed the car I removed all of the fluid that came in it and replaced it with the orange RainX. Looks like I’ll be doing that again come spring time. Going to check into using a dilution of McKee’s 37’s N-914. Speaking of cold climates, McKee’s 37 does have an Anti-Frost washer fluid. Might be worth looking into.

My M3 that I traded for the Supra had a cracked washer bottle for like a year and I almost forgot that cars have windshield washers lol

Well I went to the BMW dealer and got 4 - 16oz bottles of the concentrate (~$16). Two of the bottles seemed low but they were bulging due to expansion/under internal pressure.

I think I messed up my math so made it a little stronger than my 2 degree target (a little less than a gallon with 32oz of concentrate).

I used distilled water as I did not want to run the chance of mineral deposits over time.


Fill up was less than dramatic vs. the research on the BMW forums. They claim it slowly bubbles down so you have to fill, wait, fill, wait, etc. I'll check it again to be sure.

Due to the position of the fill cap I used an antifreeze funnel (which I cleaned with denatured alcohol first). Didn't want to spill any of the golden juice .
