At least put in 0w-30. manual says you can run it..
Am I misreading the manual? The only oil weight they list in there under pages 297-298 "Suitable engine oil types" is the GR branded 0W-20 (which I find ridiculous on it's face, but yet there it is). Under "Alternative engine oil types" it says you can add up to 1 quart/liter of other oil ratings if the suitable oil isn't available. I don't see where, as others here have repeatedly suggest, the manual says changing to a different oil is ok. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. This is the plan, once I hit 10k I will swap it over.
Yeah that's what it says for sure. I was in the same boat as you when people started saying you can run full 30wt oil its ok it says it in the manual. Thanks for confirming that for me. I'm getting older, but I still felt like my reading comprehension was at least passable. LOL!Yeah that's what it says for sure. No no no no @mokleen , he mean't that he wants to hit spending 10k on a new motor when his cyl walls become all scored up.Why 10k? You end up doing more damage my guy.
@SD_MK made me change my oil right when I hit 1,200mi.
I can't thank him enough to have helped me. So far...so good for me in my 2022 and I hope it stays that way.
Your Warranty is 3 Years, right? If there really is a problem, @32bitsofGil would be covered for a new motor anyway. Many of us don’t have oil consumption issues with the oem spec oil, so there’s no reason to think that a 30 weight oil is the only solution. No no no no @mokleen , he mean't that he wants to hit spending 10k on a new motor when his cyl walls become all scored up.
