This is the reality of today's car culture....we see it everywhere right? Hype and fabricated demand create these bubbles in the car culture. I am all for cars appreciating in value because of their discovered abilities (i.e., Supra, GTR, etc...). However, would you really consider paying $60k for a used R33 when a superior version of that car (R35) can be had for the same price on the used market? This is the million dollar question that all us on this forum have to answer, especially with the Supra. Do I buy a $60k MKIV with 100k miles, or a brand spankin' new one, just as capable (TBD) with a warranty for the same price?

On a different note, the only way I would ever spend $60k on a GTR (pre-R35) would be on a R34 in absolutely pristine condition. That's just my opinion...

R34 pricing is absolute out of this world. For a clean low mileage r34 gtr it’s close to 100k. There’s a r33 400r here in Canada that I don’t even wanna know how much the dude spent on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 400R sold for $80k+. Again, it's all "perceived value" right? "How much do I think or believe this car is worth?" Pre-R35 GTR's are deceptive cars on the used market. Alot of guys have gotten burned buying them for top dollar, only to realize they are very expensive to fix and maintain. The R32's are actually the easier of the bunch, because alot of their components are shared with the Z32 and S13/14 cars that we had here in the states. But the R33 and certainly R34's....it's a gamble.

$50-$60k for a R34 in very clean condition, I would consider. Anything more, and I would look for an R35.

33s are gonna be money because there are far less of them despite many folks not liking the body lines.

-44,000 R32 GTRs

-16,000 R33 GTRs

-5,300 R34 GTRs

The sheer difference in volume is staggering to say the least... It's like the A70, there were a shitload of them vs the A80 (240,000 vs 44,000). Also, IMO shame we didn't get three different models in the 90s like the GTR.

You mean R34's?....based on the stats above. It would have been great to see the MKIV Supra's last until their JDM end-of-life date in 2002. Those four extra years would have given us a healthy supply of MKIV Supra's today. Just imagine, clean unmolested 2002 Supra Turbo 6spd's on the used market today.

I am in Europe, and would like to get a Honda CRX mk2. They are very rare here, not original and mostly modified, and still cost around € 5K for a wrecked piece. They have rust, so a lot of body work will be necessary. Wonder if getting an import from the US could be a better solution.

There were less R34s still, but there are nearly 3x the amount of 32s to 33s, which is a huge variance. The 32s already went way up and price after legalization, so.

That said, I want an '02 JZA80, as they were hand make after they closed the assembly line.
