I personally prefer Active Autowerke, REMUS, or AWE Tuning.
Absolutely love my Active Autowerke Exhaust! I've never gotten so much compliments on an exhaust before. When searching I was torn between the armytrix, awe track and the aa. I chose AA due to their reputation in the bmw world and I had their downpipe ?

Does it sound raspy with just a downpipe? Coming from a Lexus, I'm used to a refined, clean sound lol
The initial cold start does just a little bit, but then gets deep and muted about a minute in. Nothing like a catless downpipe though.

which exhaust would you guys recommend? im thinking between the rk single exit exhaust or the tomei single exit exhaust
Tomei is the better option. Full titanium exhausts are usually some of the best options out there for gains x power, but they can get pricey. I found this one to be very affordable for what it is.

I'm glad to hear that!

Am I the only one that think stock sounds better than a lot of aftermarket ones? Lol
I think the stock sounds amazing. This car really doesn’t need an aftermarket exhaust unless you want it for the looks….

I too loved the stock sound, but after disabling ASD (first mod for many of us), the car is a little too quiet for me.

I started with just an AA catted DP and it does help, but still wasn’t enough. AWE fixed all that!

I too thought everything sounded swell until I disabled ASD... I believe I ordered my exhaust the same day I turned it off.

My 3.0 is the first car I’ve had with a motor larger than a 4 banger. I am absolutely infatuated with the way the car sounds in NORMAL mode.

I will most likely do a full custom stainless single-exit with a big ole muffler to keep it sounding near-stock. I have not found a “quiet” single-exit option yet.

Planning on coupling it with A90Shop’s new single-exit rear valance.

^ His ears are not working very well...jk. I went with a full titanium 3.5 HKS hi flow single exit. Should be here this week. The other single exits just sound loud/obnoxious and raspy. The HKS and VIBRANT single exit sound beautiful. However i currently have the VR exhaust which does sound really good.
These both look & sound super good IMO, almost more like an RB26 or something. Are you having yours custom made? Idk if they'd make & ship to CA but I'd love to have a setup like the ol' tennis ball shooters of the 90s ?

Yea, i have a VR full titanium now. I am unbolting the rear section and putting the HKS HI FLOW muffler on. (which should arrive today). Everything i read people that have used this muffler get the one that shirnks down to like 3 or a little smaller and pair it with a stainless steel exhaust. I went with a full 3.5 bore through the muffler. Then @zrk will hear what a good single exit sounds like.
