These arrived today... Easy install and a perfect fit. The trunk pops up higher than with the stock support struts and opens quickly... But it doesn't full open on it's own as anticipated.

I’ve reached back out to the company for advise of which struts will allow an instant hatch raise with the push of the hatch button. Some have talked about a helper spring that attaches to the support shock to allow the aid in initial lift. Stay tuned.
After it does the initial pop up, how much force did you apply before it started lifting? If it starts lifting with just a slight amount then a compression spring somewhere near the lift point could do the trick to get it over the initial hump of inertia before the strut has enough power.

~ Agreed. The lift necessary is very little (perhaps as inch) once ajar.

These below would do the trick. Others and perhaps same company may offer these. The small spring allows for the initial inertia lift.

I just hate having things in my hands, able to pop the hatch key fob button with one hand (other hand holding an item)... And then must squeeze my fingers in the small void between the hatch and bumper to lift.

Ended about how I expected, but I'm still optimistic maybe the right combo will enable auto opening

The solution should be pretty close to fruition. The struts pretty much launch the trunk open after some help.

I ordered a pair, not for the auto opening function, while I get that's convenient, I don't really care about it personally. I bought them because the street hunter wing is heavy enough that if a breeze is out or its not fully fully open it comes crashing down. so, hoping this will help keep it open

How does the new setup feel when you are closing the hatch?

I'm anxiously awaiting the person who finds the solution.
Think I may have found it a la Tesla Model 3 owners.

Andrew, could you possibly try this on your strut to see if it assists in opening?
(eBay) Tesla Model 3 Die Spring (13mm diameter)
(eBay) Tesla Model 3 Die Spring (US Seller) (13mm diameter)
(Amazon) 2.36"/60mm Die Spring (Prime) (16mm diameter) (No Washers)
(Amazon) 3.15"/80mm Die Spring (Spring) (16mm diameter) (No Washers)

I may try this with the OEM struts. Seems to work for Tesla 3 owners. Unfortunately their struts only go up 13" extended length. Otherwise could've just bought those lol.

Installation Video. This should be all we need. I will order later today and post results.

This looks promising. I bought it.
I have these two in my cart and will probably get some washers from Home Depot or see if someone has some laying around.

I went with higher duty spring and some 97lb struts. Watching Andrew's video, seemed like 120lb was still a bit much (end of video, the trunk was jiggling). Hopefully my combo works.

Okay… I purchased a helper spring from Ace Hardware… to complement the stronger support arms… Bingo!

Damn, better not open your trunk under a low clearance car lift/ garage/ anything that'll wack the fuck out of the trunk. Lol be a dick; if someone tries looking into the rear windshield, open your trunk and chin check the hell out of em ???

So, when I go to Ace Hardware I ask for a Helper Spring?

For anyone with a working fully auto open can you post links to buy everything online? That Model 3 video is confusing, he seems to be saying the springs make it easier to close, shouldn't it be harder?
