For anyone with a working fully auto open can you post links to buy everything online?
~ I certainly will. I plan to fine tune the helper spring length to about 2.5” (versus the 3” in the video)… hopefully I can obtain some locally tomorrow.

Stay tuned … but at least I was able to make it happen (thanks to the idea of another members ‘vuuduu’ posting). 👍

So, when I go to Ace Hardware I ask for a Helper Spring?
~ I purchased 4 washers and the spring package below (still a touch too long imo at 3”). The springs come in various lengths, thicknesses and load. Less than $10.

I will work on the perfected solution and length tomorrow.

Hopefully a solution will come out of here for those who just want the hatch to pop up a few inches when unlatched so it isn't so awkward to open. Not too keen on smashing the hatch on a low ceiling, but do appreciate the little assist so I am not jamming fingers.

Would the helper springs on OEM struts be viable?

Love the idea, need to find something that isn't blingtastic though
Yea, its actually pretty subtle if you use the jet black ones. That said, some type of thicker, more tactile metal/die cut sticker seems like it could be a good solution that could also look great.

Just picked up some additional springs in varying lengths and compression / force. I will update later today.

Perfect solution now imo. I went with the shorter springs (one on each side) in the 1 3/4” length. Specs are listed in the image. Super elated with the end result.

I picked up a spring today from Ace. I couldn't get the darn plastic tip unscrewed from the rod. The entire thing started turning. I am REALLY not mechanically inclined.

~ I’m not certain if the factory ones have the ability for the end caps to be unscrewed like the aftermarket trunk support lifts.
