Recently got a jb4 and go to try to connect it and it will not recognize the device via Bluetooth.
Newest version of the app as I just downloaded it today. Restarted the phone, etc but still nothing.
Anyone else had this issue? Phone is an IPhone 13 Pro Max. Bluetooth adapter on the jb4 is rev 3.6.

Is JB4 Mobile enabled in the Privacy -> Bluetooth setting?

There are really a million things that could be wrong. Physical layer first! Is the OBD connection tight? Really push it on there. Is the connection between the Connect Kit and the JB4 inside the unit tight? Crank the screws down. Also, is the car running when you're trying to connect or is it just in accessory mode? Trying starting it fully.

Yes, been removed and reinstalled a few times to verify that. Unit inside also is tight and good to go.
I’ve tried both with the car running and in accessory mode, with no luck.

That doesn't matter. If the JB4 has power, the JB4 has power. Use a volt meter and make sure it's getting power.

You might want to try the n54tech forums. They're burger's and they're pretty quick and helpful.

This is true, but the two times I've had trouble connecting to the JB4 via Bluetooth, the has been in accessory mode. Starting the car allowed for a normal connection. I know it shouldn't matter, but it did in these instances.

+1 on the volt meter. I wish they'd stick an LED on the outside of the device for this reason.

10/4. I’ll give the volt meter a test and start a thread over there on that forum as well.

Interesting. I’ll fiddle with it here more this morning and see if I have any luck.

The LED would be a great addition for sure!

I think us pissing into the wind about it for days on end is a fine solution.

Well finally got it to connect. Not entirely sure what the fix was. I removed the app and reinstalled it, unplugged and replugged the obd2 plug, and the connectors.
Now connects and disconnects without issue, in aux power mode and while the car is on… Thanks to everyone that posted up in here.
