$2,500!

You aren't serious, are you?

Also, it states out of a M340i, not a supra. ;)
Facts, stand corrected. Still got it though so I'm not worried about it, will send it off for cloning next week after I order my turbo kit

Ya'll crazy spending $2500 on an ECU and another $3k to clone and tune.
I'm good with stock power. If I'm going to tune the car then I may as well go with something more than searching for an OEM ECU. $5k+ for limitations of the stock ECU? Nah. I'm good.
$5k spent elsewhere makes my car SO much faster *for me* then an ECU clone.
*BUT*
I understand some people are about the HP so I get that too.

Pay to go fast. The 4k I spent on unlocking was a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of the 100k I've spent so far. Though, if you're not a die-hard car bowling fan, it's very silly.

I've made some mistakes along the way, and had to do a couple things twice. But year, it's approaching 100k.

That's the wall I'm at, i did spend it else where. Lol even went out and brought a 24ft trailer to move the car to texas next month. I have custom tune from Jesse on jb4(still dialing in) with ewg and FSB, exhaust, downpipe, Intake, wheels, tires, meth kit, port injection plate. Holding off on turbo kit and other mods cause of ecu now I have that knocked out, Gonna order that soon and build trans when I get to texas

That's a little different from me. I'd do coilovers and as many SPL bits as I could to add to my wheel/tire setup and run laps around exotics. But, again, I'm not a HP guy, since it doesn't help me go faster.
Just a "different strokes" thang.

Dude….. So true! I’m mega impressed with all the mods you can throw on this platform. You’re right @kaj the fastest track rats definitely do the setup thang (SPL parts & track alignment) and this car can hang with the best without any horsepower mods. I was so impressed and only did one weekend in Sebring with her. Then I find out the majority of owners do the horsepower thang and holy shit ? ? this car is a beast ? I had no idea (until I found this forum) that this car can do that too. And do it well!
I was fun running on the back straight of Sebring on my custom JB4 tune and having the Vette guys asking me (holy shit in their voice) what did you do to the car ? I know that’s not what tracking is about, but damn…. it sure was a blast watching them disappear in my rear view mirror.

As long as you get that 100k+ of fun out of the car that's all that matters.
