Even Tada has stated several times they are completely different but a lot of people are won't get over the fact it is being co-developed alongside BMW. They will turn a blind eye to everything he has said and jump to their own conclusions.

Yes.. he did say everything is different down to the shifter. But pics show otherwise. Maybe they put a small trim on top of the BMW shifter and are considering it different. Lol

I guess the interiors may actually be slightly different:

I hope the Supra stays with more of the all blacked out look. Not a fan of the silver painted trims.

Tada said they would be different. The only ones saying they would be the same are the pessimists of the group.

We can even see the shape to the dashboard between the cluster and Nav screens to be different as well with the Z4 as a continual slope and the Supra having the Nav screen raised from the dash board
Quoted directly from the interior thread. The shape and design of the entire dash is different. Without Xray vision, we have yet to see anything that is the same

Wait, what's the argument here, that the interior design of the Z4 and Supra will be different, or the parts itself being the same from the Z4 and Supra?

Because as far as we know, the latter is confirmed, and the former very likely to be true.

The small parts are the ones we want to be shared between BMW and Toyota, it is what is keeps costs down. These small things when combined, quickly add up in time/energy/effort to not only design and produce the part, but to program it to work with the electronics of the car.

I’m hoping Toyota is not that stupid to have the same dash design although... I think
It’ll be fundamentally the same with the same screens arranged in a slightly different manner. All the switch gear will Be BMW parts bin used elsewhere in BMW products as opposed to Toyota stuff.

Half of new cars have a screen top center in fundamentally the same way, its no different from a Lexus Rx or Mazda 3.

I am not saying that the A90 won't have BMW switches, but it is a stretch to say that ALL of them will be BMW parts from other cars.

Next we will say they are the same because they both have the center console between the passenger and driver.

Why are people moaning when all we’ve seen is a blanket over an incomplete dashboard?
Seriously... what’s another 6 years... I mean months (or however long until we actually see it)... to wait until we see the actual production model?

Toyotas head designers quoted as saying X. Internet just does whatever it wants. As we say in Africa,,, Eish!

I see you edited your post.. it’s always nice to not be an internet warrior and just talk cars. No need for personal jabs.. everyone has a point of view and if you disagree so be it. Doesn’t make the other wrong.
You're right. My bad.

Here is an example... 04-06 Pontiac GTO. When GM took a Holden (their own) and slapped the GTO badge on it and made some styling tweaks and expected to cash in on the name plate.. they failed utterly. Now fast forward 16yrs.. even though Toyota did more than just take a BMW and slap it’s Supra name plate.. they took a BMW to do a JV with... even if you look past that (more than willing to), they are not offering this car with a manual.
.
Can we agree that the GTO wasn't a great car for the money they were asking? That's exactly the point I was trying to make. The Supra fan base alone cannot save this car. It needs to be a good value period. The fanatics among us will place deposits and pay AMV. But to make up the numbers and justify it's existence, it needs to be bang for your buck. Kind of like how the Nissan GTR was.

What dumb comment on your end, you don’t know me.

You don’t even understand what you read if you read my comment at all. I was specifically talking about the trickle down effect. Why am I wasting my time talking to you, just lowers my iq.
If you're going to insult me at least respond to what I wrote in addition.
