Weird cause I've bought them for a living and I've never been rejected a purchase in CA NEVER EVER. Sorry if you sell parts for a living, but you're either wrong, or we are talking about the same thing.

I've bough from all over America, "Illegal" parts and "legal" not one has ever stopped me from buying those parts, and they were all shipped to CA without issue. The only thing that was ever stopped for me was some plasti dip by the gallon when I was looking into painting with it. I've bought street illegal turbo kits, catless downpipes, catless headers, NON Carb everything. Matter a fact I've had 0 carb legal parts in CA, since it's difficult to get it, yet never had an issue buying stuff that is "illegal" in CA.

Idk what to tell you.

Considering you no longer live in CA, you really dont know what you are talking about when it comes to what you can and cant do today. Just to make this clear, you think I had my Supras DP shipped to a buddy out of state just so that he could ship it to me for fun? Yes, I love paying for shipping twice! I tried to get an intake from my buddy who works at AFE (also based in CA) and guess what, even he cant get one since it has no CARB number. I run a company that sells aftermarket performance parts and engines for cars in CA and have been doing it for over 15 years. Pretty sure I know what I am talking about here.

Its pretty clear that you dont believe me and I really dont care enough to carry on about it. Go ahead and try order that stuff. Sure the order will go through. Then you will get an email that says your order has been cancelled due to not being CARB compliant.

I dont know what else to tell you man. I deal with this stuff EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am not making it up. It really makes my job difficult. I cant tell you how many people come in and ask for a specific cold air intake and I have to tell them no because the manufacture wont ship it to me. Same goes for headers.

This smells like I live in "Florida" and think California is a "cess pool" written all over it. Did I do the random ass quotes correctly? I also can tell you have no idea what California is really like.. again.

Hey. I am going to take emotion out of this. I lived in California for 30+ years. So yes, another ex-Californian here.

The laws have changed since we moved. More companies will not ship to California if it is a CARB related part. You can't even get a JB4 shipped to California anymore.

I think an important detail was the city you're in. I know mine didn't require smog for 5 years as of 2021.

And where I was (Redding), it was nothing like others describe. So I think city is a big part of it. For shipping, idk. It's still allowing me to ship there in my last response. So idk.

Born and raised in northern california and still live here. Never had an issue but i've never brought attention to myself. Having rotaries, you cant help but want to get rid of your cats and even after i did, never had any issues. Only got two front plate tickets in my life, one from a CHP who definitely was out to get me for stuff and the other in San Francisco during a Friday night next to the clubs. Most people i've seen either have shitty luck or bring way too much attention to themselves and usually its always the Chargers and Mustangs (just saying). But my fiancee and i have never had front plates on our cars and have done crazy stuff to my cars without much hassle.

Actually, since Jan 2019, regardless of what city you are in, you can go up to 8 years without a smog on a new car.

The city has absolutely nothing to do with it. If you were to enter your payment info and hit the order button, I can almost guarantee you that there would have been a pop up that said the parts cant ship to the address provided and that your order was not placed. If it did go through, then you would get an email saying your order was cancelled.

I tried to order a simple JLT CAI for my brother's GT500. I entered all the credit card info but when it came down to finalizing the transaction my CA address triggered a hard block. As a workaround I had it shipped to a friend in Florida (go DeSantis) who shipped it to CA. The shipping cost more than the part itself. Moral of the story: those vendors who want to avoid EPA sanctions will not ship to California. Those vendors willing roll the dice will, but it's just a matter of time.
