Like I said in previous post, installed EBC”Reds”
On other car( they were advertised as less dust then oem)….that was BS!

Probably less than their other pads. They are a decent pad. Hence they stop better = dust more. Sounds counterintuitive but buy the cheapest pad. Those typically are the lowest performance = less dust.

I'm driving the Endless N39S:

-way more agressive then ME22, so should be easily above MX72 and above RSL29 too.
-temp range 0-850°C (yes, zero degree celsius. It's a great daily-drive + performance track-pad)
-0,42-0,52u
-front+rear available
-399€ with VAT/axle here in the EU

Hope this helps! :drive:

I had the 1521’s on my last car and they were a great performance street pad with very low dust and noise compared to my stock pads. Never ran them on track though.
I run 1521's as my daily pads and xp-10's for the track. The 1521's don't seem excessively dusty to me.

I can't find any part #'s for the 3.0L supra for those pads unfortunately.

Technically any pad works in 0c/32f. How much friction is a different story. This is the unfortunate piece of data as each manufacturer is different in how they report. Some report optimum temp range and some report full temp range.

With .42-.52 I bet you don't get .42 at 0c/32f

Since you and I are using these pads as intended, on track, what should I be looking for with the average Mu? I’ve run Hawk DTC 60 and Paragon R7. Both worked great in town and on track. Stopped repeatedly w/out any fade. That being said, the Endless (for example) matches the highest price CSG, on paper (Temps and average Mu). Can one assume they‘d be comparable?

I know you’ve said before that we don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on pad. I agree but…. I haven’t used the gold standard CSGs yet. I’m only repeating this in case new peeps are checking out your awesome thread! Carlos (faster than me at Homestead and @Todday1) uses Hawk DTCs and I’m sold on how long they lasted me compared to my only other tested pads, the Paragons.

Thanks again Brian for all you do for us track rats ?

It really comes down to the setup of the car and what the driver likes. However, IMHO, baseline for real track use should be a pad that can tolerate 1200F+ without a significant Mu drop-off.

I personally like a pad with 0.50+ Mu. These published ratings by themselves have to be taken with a grain of salt though. The best pads will have a more linear Mu plot across their optimum temp ranges. Spikey Mu is harder to drive in my experience.

It's a pity we didn't have these informations about the OEM pad to compare. The N39S and the RSL29 brake pads are the only pads you can road-legalize with an official assessment of an official technical "expert", called TÜV, here in germany. This is based on the definition of ECE-standard: The aftermarket friction component may only deviate from the OEM pad by 15% in relevant points. What is a "relevate point" ? - Cold braking performance. Maybe the official data of Endless shows 0,42u at 0°C, but at least it shouldn't be that far away from the manufacturers claim. Otherwise heads would roll here, if such cars, equipped with these brake pads, legalized by a state assessor, would cause an accident. Best example is the Hyundai i30N: You can buy directly from your Hyundai-dealer aftermarket RSL29 for the car, road legalized with an official document. - That wouldn't be the case if the cold braking performance was worse than the OEM pad. I drive/drove many pads (e.g. N39S, RSL29) and the N39S has a noticeably better cold braking performance than the RSL29. So in conclusion: The "official data" is matching with the pedal feeling - for me - . And: You really don't notice any difference to the OEM pad in terms of cold braking performance.
To wrap it up: After the first seconds you brake, the pad has a temperature anyway. So i think that +/-50°C plays a subordinate role in terms of track driving here.
But i totally understand your point. I also see it the same way that, as you said, pads that have a constant u are easier to ride than pads with a spikey u. It's a simply more "predictable" pedal.

I had to ask if it was per pad ?. What a steal! I’ve driven on these in town and track, love em. Doubt I‘ll ever buy anything else at this price ?

I'm pretty sure that we get a discount on Hawks with the 1 year NASA membership too. Definitely going to be the first aftermarket pad I try out at the track.

Endless SSM Plus
Really curious about the SSM Plus in real-world usage. Seems to be Endless' lowest dust offering, but with pretty decent performance. Wonder how dust and stopping power is compared to Powerstop, etc. for daily driving.

What's the pad choice for somebody who doesn't give a crap about dust, doesn't want an endlessly noisy and squeaky pad, has good streetability but can take the punishment of canyon driving that is more braking biased than sweepers. Absolutely no tracking in mind. Ideally something with a great initial bite, since I despise a squishy pedal.

I can’t speak for Brian but… I think the Hawk pad lineup is really nice. I’ve used them for decades. Usually anything is better than OEM but not the case for this Supra. However, if you’ve already spent your OEMs pads:

https://www.hawkperformance.com/market/street-car

These have been great choice on my other “in town” cars, for above OEM quality, w/out going all out track (noise & dust).

Update! Found my OEM 2020 Supra pads.

Front pads: FF
.35-.45 from 200-650F

Rear pads: GF
.45-.55 from 200-400F
.35-.45 from 300-650F
Dude…. You are a genius & quite the detective! I really thought (assumed) these had a higher temp range. Confirms I wouldn’t use them on track but would be great for the “canyon carving” as mentioned above ??

Keep up the great work! So glad we’ve got you on our forums ✊?
