I'm a liberator of souls. When it is your time to go I give you a small nudge into whatever afterlife you believe in. On the other hand, I try as hard as possible to keep you breathing. I was a Covid contractor for a while, working in all the Covid hot spots stateside. In a normal setting, I'm just called a Respiratory Therapist.

I considered paying all cash, but would have needed to sell some stock/investments at the time. Instead decided to put 20k down and finance the rest @ 2.49% via local credit union. This was back in May 2021.

So far, this has worked out to be the right choice, but obviously that could change depending on the market over the next 3 years ;)
Same. I got in at 1.99% so feel totally fine with financing. No sense in emptying out my savings for the few $K I'd be saving in financing charges. Of course, I then used my stash to buy a car I've wanted for over 40yrs.. so... worth it LOL

I thinks it’s silly to conclude across the board that if you make a sub 100k income it’s a bad idea to finance or lease a Supra.

There are too many factors to account for, it really depends on who you are and what you want with your future.

I waited until I knocked off a few career goals, owned a house and had significant investments as well as salary before indulging in a few toys.

Financial considerations were a factor but more importantly I decided that I needed to be hungry and live hungry in the situation I was in with the career goals I had.

So luxury wasn’t conducive to success at the time even though I was more than able to afford some along the way.

Make sure you have the personality to deal with and adapt to poor life decisions and unexpected adversity before stretching yourself with a financial commitment like a Supra.

Could I own my primary dwelling and rent it out if I want to move? Sure, but that's a fucking headache in it's own right. I tried this once in my mid-twenties. Disaster.
Get good bruh

hoping to allow others with < 100k year jobs to be welcomed into the conversation without worrying about being told their unwise financially.
Everyone is in a different place, with a different history, and comparing yourself to others is a sure way to be miserable. I allowed it to destroy my happiness for a long time myself.

To spill some personal beans here, I always felt like I'd done something wrong because I'm not a millionaire like my older sibling. However, she had a perfeclty smooth upbringing and got a free Master's degree, whereas my dumpster-fire bunch of health problems and a criminal uncle stealing my college fund made sure that I would never have those opportunities. After a long time, I finally accepted that I did nothing wrong, and I'm right where I'm supposed to be. The only person I should be concerned with being 'better than' is the man I was yesterday. Lastly, one thing we all know, but somehow still refuse to learn, is that money has never guaranteed happiness.

This post resonates hard with me. I agree with it 100%. I periodically find myself going through a deep contemplative process, where I feel I have failed at life. I tend to get depressed and think about how my choices in career, etc have not made me millions. I compare myself A LOT to others around me. I look at people in "similar" phases of life or careers, and think I'm not where I should be. I ask myself "why don't I have the money person A or B have, etc. It's a bad trait I have. I always try to talk myself back down and realize comparing yourself to others is a one way road to being miserable. Everyone is at diff spots and you never know the behind the scenes of all the exterior viewpoints as well. Person A could be a millionaire but also have no family, social life, health issues etc. The list could go on in any direction really. Best thing is to do you, and be happy in yr own scenario. Easier said than done I'm sure, I still do this. I struggle to re check myself a few times a year. We live in a world where it's hard not to compare yrself with others. We see social media and people being "happy" or "rich" etc. We also have no clue of the truths people go through everyday. Tbh, my comparative thought process was a lot worse when I lived in California. It was pretty hard to see an 18yr old driving next to you with a 300k supercar while driving to your 9-5. It def made me think I failed at life. Moral of story, do you and don't compare yrself with others, you'll be happier.

IT consultant but trying really hard to move into carbon fiber parts manufacturing.
Carbon fiber parts manufacturing is fun. I was a tech for a company who contracted with SpaceX, NASA, BOOM, and Singer. We built a ton of things for SpaceX and also worked on the fuel tank for moon lander. Although my goals were to hopefully get into Lockheed Martin one day. Covid hit and my moms nail salon business tanked. I flew home from CA to help here work and keep her business alive ever since then. Now we are stable and focusing on new businesses as I collect Certs for CyberSec industry.

Buy and sell 🐱🐈 + sell fancy looking plastic with squares and the round things that make ur car turn except I make them no longer round and combine it with said fancy plastic with squares. I also dabble in various noise makers, from the stututu kind, to the pop and bang kind and all matters in between.
