I was in the Burger King drive thru picking up my order and the guy told me he liked my car but likes the MKIV even more. I replied well I like McDonalds even more, but that doesn’t make it better than Burger King. I think it all went right over his head.

EDIT: YES- I’m always sarcastic. I can’t help it… ?

Show them this and many other videos from pro drivers and drifters. To add insult to injury to the stubborn MKIV argument and their comments, the MKV is killing it in Formula Drift with 2 years back to back championships with the GR Supra.

The old car is a beautiful classic! This new one is a complete track bargain! What’s not to love?

The local BMW track & race group asked me and a few other Supras to join the local club. I love that they consider us part of the family :) Best of both worlds. Feels like I own two brands all rolled up in one!

Don't the Formula Drift cars have 2js in them?

Not really. B58, LS builds, VQ38DETT (GT-R engine), etc. Frederic Aasbo is the current back to back Formula Drift Champion in the GR Supra for Team Papadakis (first person to 1000hp in a B58) which has won both championships on a built B58. Skip to 6:00 and listen to what pro drifter Jhonnattan Castro says about the B58 in his GR 86.

I have been trying to find a Supra to test drive before putting a deposit down, it many in my area. One popped up for sale the other day, messaged the guy/business. Was honest and upfront that I wasn’t interested in buying the one they had as I want a manual but that a test drive would give me excellent information to use in my decision to put a deposit down on a new one. It’s a 2021 premium yellow with around 1,500kms on it asking what a new one is being sold for from Toyota. They said no test drives as they want to keep the kms as low as possible…and that it’s an “exotic”. Now I was fine with no test drives, completely understandable, but couldn’t let the “exotic” tag pass. So attempted to inform him that Supras are not or ever have been exotic vehicles. He said due to the lower numbers and because it’s made in Austria that by definition it is exotic. Told him that he could call it a helicopter for all I cared just wanted to save him the embarrassment of referring to it as an exotic to a car person. Some people just are not in touch with reality.

Hilarious ?

It’s best not to engage and move on. What an imaginative mind the guy has… Some people will never listen to reason. Bottom line, mega unfortunate you can’t even test drive the damn thing. Weird times man, weird times indeed

Yeah I’m almost glad he didn’t let me test drive it because if I was in person and he used the “exotic” term to describe the Supra, I would not have been able to bite my tongue.

I just try to educate but some people just don’t want to learn. He was dead set that it met the “industry standard” of an exotic. We all know there is no industry standard for such terms, just a common belief and definition that is agreed upon from the car community.
