Very interesting. Whatever the 6th gen Supra will be I highly doubt it will be TWO different cars. It will either be a gas-electric hybrid or a full EV.

Since Kirk mentions the Celica again that lends some credence to the continued development of the Celica EV coupe under the GR brand that was talked about before.

I guess we'll see.

The gas-electric hybrid with a manual transmission has already been known to be part of the 3rd gen GR86's design so porting over that technology to the Supra doesn't sound far fetched at all.

Best Car implies BMW will still be part of the project. If true, makes me think they would renew contract with Magna Steyr, that is good news.

All I'm getting from that design is Scion TC and Honda CRZ vibes... which ain't good. lol. It's surely a rendering. hope final product is better. FT-1 to A90 was a bit disappointing, Hope this rendering is the "bad" design.. and we'll get a brand new design. It also makes me wonder if they'd stray too far away from current Supra design. Afterall they put all sort of new tooling for the arches in the back. I feel like they'll keep that and work around it.

Do we really expect a brand new Supra right after this one finishes? No 20 years in-between? ?I guess so..

In case you guys only watched the inline-YT video. Links he provided are:

Not buying it. That channel posts a lot stuff just to see what sticks.

There’s ZERO chance of two concurrent Supras. That’s just nonsense.

As far as a next gen Supra still built on BMW bones, that means either:

1) BMW will bring back the Z4 (doubtful)
2) Toyota will have to use another BMW platform, most likely the current 2-series (doubtful, and who wants a fat ass Supra?)
3) BMW lets Toyota keep using the current/outgoing Z4 for the next Supra (this to me seems the most likely of the three)

Anything Tada-san said I take it with grain of salt but at one point he did say they will continue to work with BMW. I mean, I believe they're collaborating on the hydrogen stuff and supposedly coming out with something together is 2025 if it hasn't changed..
Supra ain't lightweight anyhow.. ~400lb difference vs M2.. at 3400 it's still rather heavy... new M2 with all that weight I believe is expected to 0-60 in what 3.5s? track people be damned with that weight and shift, but hey I'll still have hybrid over EV.
If anything, Z4 chassis is now a goner for BMW. So, maybe they couldn't care less?

I'll just put it out here. I'm not closely following the history of Hyundai/Kia/Genesis but to me they don't care about heritage and lately come out with experimental and brave designs inside/out.

So, Toyota, please F the heritage name you're trying to bring onwards. on SF forums people still aren't over Supra name. Toyota isn't and can't do the BMW bravery with weird ass designs, grills that cause lots of fizz that still sells. Name the other Kelika and be done with it. I6 with Supra still won some hearts with the stubborn, but EV with 20 yr late.... And overall sales of Celica was much higher than Supra combined. So, you've got bigger shoes to fill. So.. I'd give it up.

Interesting. Almost a month ago I post this video simply as something relevant to us all in regards to the car we want to see continue on into a new generation.

And today nearly one month later only AFTER Kirk's video is posted is it funny.

Rumors are what they are all around. Even in Kirk's latest video he can't be sure whether or not the gen 6 Supra won't have an all electric variant or if that vehicle won't actually be a totally different car.

Personally the earlier all-electric rumor for the Supra gen6 suprised me in that it would reportedly happen THAT soon.

And now we have more info than we did one month ago and we're still not entirely certain what is going on with its immediate future.

If the Magna Steyr and BMW contract will be extended in order to keep an ICE Supra alive a bit longer then great-- refine an amazing car close to its current form while it's still possible to do so!

Something tells me this generation will be the best and last good generation of supra ever. We are in the final era of fully gas powered cars boys its almost over for america…
If you can pickup a new/used ICE powered vehicle now….do it!!! I recently purchased a 1989 Raider SWB (aka Pajero), and am doing a Lexus V8 swap and restomod. I just can’t see myself in a EV anytime soon….maybe in 15-20yrs.

If Bestcar is right it probably means a late deal was struck between Toyota and BMW for a second gen that is heavily based on the current models. Think along the lines of the second gen 86/BRZ but maybe with hybird tech this time around.
