I think iDrive is one of the best infotainment systems out there. This would not be a negative. Toyota and Lexus are stuck in the past.
That’s what I think too and why I’m really interested to know what they will use for the Supra.

As a car salesman I've seen and been in my fair share of BMW Interiors and i'm going to agree that the A90 Shares a VERY Similar interior to current model BMWs. The door chime is the classic BMW sound too.

As a self-proclaimed car nerd/expert, it doesnt look anything like a BMW

It looks more like the new RX interior than anything

Edit: pic for reference

As a BMW customer I’m going to disagree with you. Current models look quite different (X3, X5, X7, 8series, new 3 series, Z4). Of course the Supra shares lot of parts with some BMW models (who’s wondering about that?), but I can’t see the similarities you are talking about.

o_O How about the steering wheel? The double stack radio and vent controls? Door lock pins? Shift knob? iCommand control system?
Yes all those are bmw, what we’re getting at is that the way they are all laid out. The interior as a whole looks nothing like bmw offers

Those are all single BMW parts. But it’s all about the layout / interior design. Have a look at the vents (inside), the cup holder location, the instruments and so on.

So where would the center console storage area be? Seems to be occupied by cupholders.

There isn't any. There's a little cubbyhole behind the cupholders, but it's only big enough to hold loose change.

You know it's a legit sports car when:
  • It's built with BMW
  • They benchmark it against Porsches
  • You can fit bucket seats in easily
  • Carbon fibre everywhere
  • A couple are built and taken racing
  • There's a manual (still waiting on that one)
  • There's no storage space so you have to put the phone in the freaking cupholder and tape it over
  • It still has buttons instead of an annoying touchscreen
etc.

my personal opinion is that double wishbone is vastly superior for the reasons listed, but yes ultimately implementation is key.

I will say this though, everyone always parrots that Supras (A70-A80) don't handle well, and while they aren't life changing (in their own time or now) they were and still are pretty decent overall. Mediocre isn't a word I'd ever use to describe them.
Just as an example, here's a modded Supra (driven by a dude with iron testicles) running down a Radical SR3 on the Burgerkingring:

And he says his suspension setup is pretty straight-forward/simple.

Laughed at Burgerkingring. Guess that's what you call a chain of stores.
Childish puns aside, it's not all about that part of the suspension. It shouldn't cause a massive difference, and the springs are real important too.

Oh man. Why does it have to be a 100% BMW sourced interior. We don't need iDrive or the the screen. They even copied the vent location, HVAC controls. Here is hoping we can get one without Nav/iDrive controller and just a simple radio.
Copied vent location? lol find me any car, literally any car, without vents in different locations. 1 on each side and 2 in the center is the same with 99% of cars. ( I say 99% because the mk3 had the legendary testicle cooler/heater)
