Hello everyone,

I have an appointment at a local shop to get full front PPF and ceramic coating done to my 2023 A91-MT I recently purchased. Just for giggles I emailed Toyota to see what their response was on aftermarket PPF and they don’t recommend any modifications of course. I guess I’m wondering if they’ll know or care if I were to bring my car in for basic warranty work?

The United States Magnuson Warranty act enforces that your vehicle warranty must be upheld if a vehicle modification is not responsible for the defect in a warranty claim. You're fine. Don't narc on yourself.

Thanks! I appreciate the quick response. Just wanted to double check.

If you ever have any sort of paint issue, your warranty is voided. Mechanically your warranty is fine.

That's good to know. My only concern is if they try to pull some bs with mechanical warranty even though it's just ppf done to the vehicle. I know the burden of proof is on them but I just hate dealing with the hassle lol

They can’t void any mechanical warranty for PPF homie. Even if it was an exhaust or intake they rlly can’t unless they can prove that caused failure.

Are Toyota dealers even competent to service a Supra? Reading this forum, they all seem confused all the time.. car's been out 3-4 years now..

I told my dealer I had PPF done when they asked if I had any modifications. They didn't care 🤷‍♂️

There is one other potential problem area.

if you ever have any issue with your adaptive speed control sensors, or parking sensors, they could give you some grief, as the PPF will cover over the sensors.

in reality, anyone with a working brain and knowledge of these sensors, will realize that PPF (unless it has significant metal in the makeup of the PPF) would cause any issue with those sensors.

Oof. In that case it would probably be a good idea to find a dealership that will be compliant with aftermarket PPF? That or have the PPF removed before any warranty work but that's another issue in itself.

My sensors are covered with PPF and work just fine. XPEL Ultimate Plus. Helps if your PPF guy knows what he's doing and tests your sensors before giving the car back.

Thanks! I'll be sure to ask the PPF guys about the sensors first!

When I got my car back from full ppf, driver side blind spot monitor triangle start showing as stripes (lines) instead solid yellow color. I know they took out the mirrors. Donyou think it could be connection problem? Thanks
