Hey I was wondering of anyone here has tried to change the transmission fluid in their MT Supra yet. I haven't been able to find the maintenance interval in the manual anywhere and was hoping someone here would have more direction or better yet has changed their MT fluid.

@Ace of Laces So Toyota still doesn't have any set intervals they're publishing. I know it takes the BMW MTF-LT-5 (or equivalent) gear oil, in the amount of 1.27 quarts.

Historically speaking, the ZF manual gearboxes should have their oil changed about every 30,000 miles. You could certainly go further if you wanted to, but as cheap and easy as this maintenance is, it's advised to not go longer if you can help it.

Thank you! I figured it would be 30k miles but I'll probably do mine sooner than that. I found some fluids that match the BMW MTF LT 5 spec. It's interesting that the Liquimoly DCT Oil meets this spec. I hope this helps MT owners in the future.

No surprise at all actually, because DCTs are nothing more than automated basic manual gearboxes with dual input shafts and twin dry clutches. A manual gearbox is a manual gearbox is a manual gearbox ?

Hey wondering if you did the MT fluid change and what did you use? Did it improve the smoothness of the shifts?

I've used Redline in other cars and it has made shifting much smoother:
