I was playing around setting my shortcuts on Sunday when I realised it wouldn't let me save the performance meter display to a shortcut button.

Anyone experienced this?

Are there any other screens that cannot be saved to a shortcut?

After the initial excitement of discovering you can add shortcuts, you'll quickly realise they're mostly useless, lol. I sat there programming them until I realised I have no real use for any of them. CarPlay FTW.

As for the "performance meter," I predict that after the first few times you use it, you will realise that having Waze/Google Maps up on screen is infintely more useful. The only shortcut I have programmed is the trip computer - mainly because it is missing from the god awful gauge cluster.

I realised it wouldn't let me save the performance meter display to a shortcut button.
I found the way shortcuts are added kind of weird - You sort of have to add the screen before (a level up from) the screen you want, if that makes sense.

You mean sport displays? That can be saved to a button. Pretty much everything can.

As @BMWAF said, you have to go one screen up from the one you want to save, use the scroll wheel to highlight the entry for what you want, then hold the button to save it. I have CarPlay on #1, tire pressure/temp on #7, and sport display (which is boost and ethanol content on my ecutek tune) on #8. The phone holder covers up 2-6.

My shortcuts are:
1. Navigate to home
2. Navigate to work
3. End navigation
4. Carplay
5. Tire pressure
The others are set to things like sport settings, weather, etc just to fill the spot.

Welcome to iDrive folks.

I don't use them but I don't daily the thing either.

Also found the sports displays super tacky but that's just me.

Helpful at the drag strip for Launch Control params.
