A version of the A90 may have dry sump apparently, I'm guessing the GRMN because I didn't see anything of the sort on the real OE stuff (plus that would be real weird IMO).

Cool stuff anyways.
I had a dry sump once, but the doctor gave me some cream and it went away after a couple of days.

Dry sump system is meant for the top levels of racing where maximum power and control are necessary.

I think it might be in the SUPERGT A90 beforehand

Pretty much goes without saying. Nearly all forms of racing use drysump, and Super GT isn't necessarily great because they use bespoke 4cyl engines.

I prefer GTE/GT300, etc where they retain and do development on factory components and engines.

Though they still have to deal with those regulations

Update on sales side:

~6-7k units planned for 2019 (Worldwide), car is backordered for over a year as far as presales in other countries (this wont affect other market allocations), and yearly projection for 2020 onward is ~1k cars per month. Apparently the current success is already considered favorable to executives and year two (MY2021) is already paid for.

Still nothing on Toyota USA sales strategy, and based on my contacts it sounds like they aren't really even in the swing of things yet, but on the flip side more cars should be available to North America than any other region despite coming in last for release.

^^ Thank you for the update, A70! Disappointing to hear that Toyota USA hasn't really tackled this yet (which might also suggest they have no strategy to even attempt to discourage dealer price gouging?)

But more cars available for NA is a good plus indeed! Now the question will be: of which trim levels? ;)

Much larger market, way more people involved, totally different beast from EU, JP, AU, etc.

They are working on it though, as demonstrated by the marketing pushes, most recently the auction for the first A90.

Not to mention nobody in Toyota USA's marketing department even remembers how to sell a sports car. They're all like "I dunno Bill, with this towing capacity the Supra doesn't stack up favorably with the F-150 at all."

As comical as that sounds, it is definitely outside of their usual practices so there is likely some of that lol.

Wow, that's far smaller than I estimated. Given the phenomenal marketing success, i thought they would be much higher numbers than that. It sounds like it could be very similar to the old A80 production numbers it started with. If that follows suit, then as you predict, the US would prob again get about 1 in every 4 cars built, the vast majority of models will stay in japan, and limited numbers will go to Europe and Global. (I'm still not convinced it will go to Australia. Its just too small a market for manufacturers to care about sports cars, even if they have a sales vacuum from their self-imploded car industry)
Tada just went to Australia for road testing and press reviews of the A90 so I don't think you have to worry about it not releasing there.

That could explain the odd points though in its Australian sale strategy. Toyota has clearly stated there is no specific model for Australia(unusual for Aus), that Australia still has no access to a pre-order system, Toyota hasn't provided any indication of volume for Australia, nor any clear dates when it goes on sale down under. Earliest indications are a possible October 2019, and even a possible 2020 release, but otherwise its all a bit blurry and uncertain.
USA doesn't have any indication of volume, sale dates, or ability to pre-order either

Rumor for US price guidance:

40,000 - 4cyl
59.9k - 6cyl

Dealers may set price accordingly. As such, 2019 cars are expected to be pricey to say the least, unless they impose some sort of restriction (unlikely IMO).
