Though I wear sunglasses, I often drive with the windows down and I started to really hate the complete inability to block the sun if it comes in from the side...

I almost started carrying a hat just for this purpose, but got to brainstorming and came up with a working solution.

I cut down a 18"x15" Glare Guard to fit the headliner hump using a Dremel, finished the edge with 400/800/1200/2000 grit sand paper, took a gamble on the part possibly not fitting, lucked out, and successfully swapped the captive visor clip to a 2014-2023 BMW 440i Sun Visor Clip (P/N 51167896985)!

California only legally allows 30% tint on the front two windows, and the windshield can only have a 4-5" strip tinted at the top. My other car has tints darker than this and I absolutely hate it at night and end up just rolling the windows down when I can just to see...

I'm leaving this car as-is since the fish bowl look doesn't bother me

no, it’s not prohibited.

as a matter of fact, the police aren’t even allowed to write tickets even if you cannot see through it at all.

next.

Bought the clip. I cannot count the number of times I've reached up to swing the visor around towards the driver-side window, only to remember Toyota absolutely sucked at the interior design of this car and locked the visor in place.

I'm with you.

I tinted all of my cars, but left the Supra alone -its hard enough to see out of as is.

Bought the clip.
Just ordered the clip!! Thank you!!!
Glad I could help a few people out!... I unfortunately have to also mention that even with the non-captive clip, when you rotate the visor it doesn't actually dip below the roof bubble... hence why I also picked out a visor extension ?

That's some darn fine engineering! Is it even noticeable when folded away? I like the fact that it is a tinted panel rather than opaque.

I figured as much when you posted the pics, but the clip is the first step! I appreciate the work you put in to help!!
