Femto unlock problem

So anybody that has femto experience.

I sent my ecu off and they received it today. I get an alert that it’s complete and on its way back. Beside the message it says this- “Old ecu, can be unlocked using bench tools. NOT UNLOCKED” I have a a 2022 with a 21 date code ecu. Why would this have happened? Thank you

Unlock type (bench vs FEMTO) is not about a date, but the security version (ECUSECUSERV) in the engine computer.

So is it possible that MY24 can be bench unlocked?

if it has old security version, then yes

all that is easy to check with tuning apps like MHD

This is bizarre. First 2022 I've ever heard of not needing femto

Totally possible. Femto sent my ECU back locked... So there's that. I put a label on my ECU w/ my vin so I 100% knew it was mine.
Ask them about it - They were very quick to admit they messed up.

Did the ROM ID end in 3GM?

I used Visconti - so he took care of everything. I'm sure they did something for him.
