I unfortunately woke up this morning to my rear right tire being at 3 PSI ;( got a flat somehow yesterday on the way home from work.

I bought this car out of state and had it delivered to me from Houston, TX to Cali about 2 months ago. Brand new 2024 Supra 3.0 Premium, still haven’t hit 1,000 miles on it. I have a pretty good relationship with one of the salesman here at my local dealership and they suggested I call ToyotaCare Roadside assistance and have them tow it over to the dealership. I had also bought extra warranty which includes tire/wheel warranty.

I genuinely didn’t think I was going to have to deal with a flat so soon, nor did I think I was going to be modding the car at all since my thought process was I’d keep it stock for a while when I bought the car. Currently I have an AA Catted DP, 13mm/15mm spacers installed, and paint matched front reflectors installed.

Is there a chance I could be charged for both the tow and tire? Would they even check/notice I have a non-oem DP installed? It’ll be obvious that I have spacers installed once they take the wheel off, could they use that against me and deny warranty?

There is absolutely zero reason to deny a tire warranty if you indeed have one for repairing/replacing tires due to road hazard. Spacer has nothing to do with you picking something up off the road and getting into the tire.

When I brought my car in for the recall the other day, I was a little surprised (not that I gave a crap at all cause I work on my car myself over at the dealer I work at) but they didn't do a regular inspection which I wasn't used to since most dealers typically do a free MPI

why not just take the wheel off and have them change the tire?
That’s what I wanted to do initially. I asked my salesperson but they said they’d have to require the vehicle to be at the dealership to verify it came from that specific vehicle.

Gotcha, thank you! That puts me at ease a bit.

take the wheel to a tire shop for a patch instead. $20ish?
flat bed tow costed me $250.

or try the flat tire stuff in the trunk. then the dealer will have to clean all that up. LOL

Hi there, I can only speak for the situation in Australia, a tire puncture is not covered by warranty here, that's wear and tear. My suggestion is learn to repair your own puncture, it's not hard. I have had 3 already in 20k km of driving, all close to the shoulder of the tire, normally tire repairers would say the tire needs to be replaced, I'm not going to spend $700 per tire every time I get a puncture. So I bought the following:
- car jack/wrench suitable for a GR Supra (i.e. BMW), I bought this one: https://heynershop.co.uk/car-lifting-equipment/4043-ultra-lift-pro-scissor-jack-wrench.html
- puncture repair kit, I bought this one: https://shop.touratech.com.au/slime-tire-plug-kit.html

At first I was skeptical of the Slime puncture repair plugs, but I did the research and learnt they are very effective and they last. No leaks at all so far. There are lots of videos on how to repair punctures using these plugs.

Appreciate the input guys! I’m really hoping this will be the only time I really gotta do anything through Toyota. If I hadn’t bought the extra warranty I woulda just done what you guys suggested, but I feel like I may as well take advantage of it since I do have it.

You are welcome, I try to be self sufficient and not rely on Toyota dealerships as they are sh%t, I dread taking my car to the dealer for service. Because this car has no spare wheel, you need a repair kit and inflator in the boot (trunk) in case you are in the middle of nowhere (we have a lot of uninhabited land here in Oz, you could drive 1000km and not see a soul).

Its covered if you buy the wheel and tire warranty package, which some of us did. Covers everything from Toyota

Hi, OP. Your situation is covered in the USA by the Magnuson Moss warranty act. Amongst many things offered by this law, it prevents companies from declining a warranty due to non-OEM replacement parts. Further, it prevents a company from denying a warranty claim unless they can clearly demonstrate that a non-original part caused a defect in question.

Since none of your mods are responsible for making road debris puncture your tire, you are well within your right to claim the warranty you paid to have for this scenario.

Yea, I didn’t look to check if had one of those dealership “repair” kits (I doubt they’re any good even if included) but this experience definitely is going to make me get one of those (a decent one) and possibly a Supra spare tire kit, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen one of those available for sale somewhere. Experience wasn’t too bad though, just got everything done, and all I gotta do is go back and pick my car up tomorrow morning.

Thank you guys! Yea the tow from ToyotaCare Roadside Assistance was free, tires going to be free, and they even got me an Uber back to my house for free. They honestly treated me great, it’s just a time consuming process which is annoying. They had to special order my tire which should arrive in the morning and be done pretty quickly. I’m surprised they treated me so well considering I had bought my Supra elsewhere and had my deposit refunded from them lol.
