What did you do to your Supra today?

Mounted one of these up the other day. Light flashes once/second green, orange or red depending on battery condition. Means I don't need to open the hood to hook up the charger and no need to leave it connected all the time. Would be an even easier install on a LHD car. Some black DS tape would also look nicer but white was what I had.

15.5 inches to the edge of the hood will align the gurney flap of the racelouver vent with the rear edge of the rad cover plate. most folks are mounting the triple seven vent 18.5 inches back, but Albert @ RL says 2 inches behind the rear plane of the radiator stack is ideal. since the rad plate extends back 3.5 inches, this seems like a nice compromise.

this is the 30x9 version. there is also a 30x14 variant but albert says he doesn't really recommend that one much because it can make some hoods too floppy.

This is why I don't cut my hood - all the measuring devices in the world and it's still crooked. You might be able to straighten it up a little if you trim the edges and twist it a tad bit. Other than that - good luck and looking [pretty] nice.

They connect directly to the battery/ground and serve as charging cable and indicators. I have one somewhere. I should probably connect it.

It connects to the positive block and a ground in the engine bay. I have basically the same thing, just underhood.

Which ground in the engine bay? I usually use the post above the fender but not sure the CTEK terminals will fit.

Wow, that's clever - I'm definitely tired of opening my hood and clamping to the contacts every time. How did you connect the eyelets to the posts? And where did you route the wires? Do you mind showing how you did it?

Not directly Supra-related, but drove some cars via Turo I would cross shop with the Supra while attending a friend's wedding. C7 Grand Sport and G87 M2 (both stick).

The C7 definitely makes for a better GT car than the Supra with how good the Magneride suspension felt in touring and even sport mode. Track mode really stiffened it up. The transmission felt nice, but quirky since it's been a long time since I drove a 7 speed. Visibility was also brilliant. The steering rack did have a deadzone on center but loaded up well. NA V8s are something else, but I did miss how quick the B58 gets up and going.

Given my Supra is now tuned and weighs a bit less, along with NA vs the B58 turbo, it did feel a bit slower, but still a good car. I'd love to get behind the wheel of a Z06 with Z07 package at some point.

The M2 on the other hand felt like an overall bad experience. It felt like a comfortable quick highway cruiser, not a sports car. The seating position felt weirdly tall, even compared to my GRC. The weight made it feel very delibrate in the corners. The steering was numb, and the gearbox was just awful. It felt worse than the gearboxes in: 981 GT4, C7, manual Supra, ND2 Miata, 2019 WRX STI, 2015 Evo, manual Supra, GRC, and an Elantra N. The only ones I've driven that it felt better than were the gearboxes of a Fiat 500 Abarth and an econobox I drove in India. The S58 was also underwhelming: awful noise, rev hanging a lot, quite a lot of lag, and the CDV being a pain in the ass. Overall, it didn't feel like a driver's car anymore.

I'll get some images under the hood for you but it will be different and easier on a LHD car simply because the the wiring is a much more direct run from the passengers side to the remote battery terminal. On the RHD drive car I ran the wire across the firewall tucked into existing holders and to the positive post and cut a small section from the positive plastic cover so it still clips on with the lead terminal attached then shortened the negative lead and earthed it under a strut bolt on the passengers side (drivers side on LHD car)
