Custom/Vanity Plates - Is it dumb or is it cool?

I understand your point but...can't a car be fast but not quick and the reverse can be assumed as well? I mean - let's take a heavy car that tops out at 300 mph. It takes 20 minutes to get to its top speed. It is indeed fast, but man it's not quick. And we take a car that tops out at 94 mph but gets there in 1.00000239 seconds. That's pretty quick, wouldn't you agree?

Reminds me of a kid one time. He asked how fast I've been in the Supra. I just bought it so not very fast. Anyway, I said "around 140, I guess." He said "oh that's not fast" I responded "Every car in this parking lot has the potential to do 140. It's how quick you get there that matters."

Imo personal pref.

Car already reeks alot of attention/unwanted attention so don't really want to fuel that with a catchy custom plate.

That being said, you wanted opinions here I go: (I know I will be excommunicated but whoever feels offended should not read other person’s opinions)

Vanity plates reaffirming the car’s identity are dumb (thank you for letting me know it’s a 5UPR4, otherwise I would’ve never known.

The plates with the 2 existing Supra jokes are also dumb. How many times are we gonna say the same joke. Yes it’s a Supra

The plates about how fast the car is, are also dumb.

My two other cars are faster/quicker than my Supra. You are setting your bar low by putting 2Fast in a Supra car plate.

Weird references to engine or powertrain specifications are also dumb. I know what B58 is. My wife does not. Include the serial number of the high pressure fuel pump next time - I promise both my wife and I will be puzzled.

I wrote my initials and my track day number. My reason for wanting to change the plate was because I wanted it black - FL standard plate is awful: it’s white and has an orange ? in the middle of it.

Now, if you have any of the plates I just mentioned: take a deep breath. Quote me here and make fun of me, then, apply rule 1 and then rule 2

Disagree on this statement. If (usually is the case) that Supra owners of either mk4 or mk5 license plate reference (2fast or speed) are 98% The time modified heavily, or else it'll just look silly.

They know they either got a 9/8 second car.

Oh you're gonna hate my plate then lol cause it hits two of your ick criteria lmfao. I also think it's redundant unless you straight up have the 1 of 1 "SUPRA" as your plate then it's okay. Any letter x number combination of it seems lame, even if you're trying to be clever like "MK5UPRA" or something. I say all of this but my plate is literally "JDM Z4" which I chose to be redundant but funny lol

Looks like you want something that relates to speed. I once saw a plate in CA on a Ferrari that read 2FAST4U...and he was.

While I agree there are subtleties between the two terms, I'm suggesting the average Golf R driver (or any other shitbox driver who likes to race) is unlikely to differentiate.

Haha.. I don't mind it. Humor goes a long way in my book. In fact, I agree with pretty much everything you said, and while I genuinely hate the term ZUPRA, I do believe the perfect car plate for our Supras (while slightly esoteric) is ZUPR4 because its so deliciously clever.
